Police looking for missing woman

Henry County Police are seeking the public's help in locating a Stockbridge woman, who has not been seen by relatives or friends since Thursday.

Beverly Dees, 65, was reported missing by her husband Friday afternoon.

According to Police Capt. Jason Bolton, Dees' husband last saw her Wednesday night around 9 p.m., before he went to sleep at the couple's home at 86 Dogwood Trail Drive.

"There is evidence that she got up and made coffee Thursday morning," said Bolton.

Dees is believed to have left her home Thursday morning, but did not return.

Detectives have reportedly been in contact with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation to discuss the possibility of having a Mattie's Call issued, due to a disability the missing woman suffers. Bolton did not indicate the nature of Dees' medical condition.

Dees is described as approximately 5-feet 6 inches and 190 pounds, with blonde hair and blue eyes. At the time of her disappearance, she was reportedly driving a silver, 1999 Mercury Grand Marquis, with Georgia tag: BED 2911.

Anyone with information, is asked call Henry County Police at (770) 957-9121.

Missing woman found 'unharmed'

A Stockbridge woman, who was missing last week, has reportedly been reunited with her family.

Henry County Police located 65-year-old Beverly Dees Saturday. She had been last seen by her husband on Wednesday night.

According to Police Capt. Jason Bolton, Dees drove to Florida after leaving her home at 86 Dogwood Trail Drive Thursday morning. She reportedly came back into Henry County Saturday.

"She had contact with a family member when she got back to the area, and indicated that she was going to get a check cashed at Atlanta Check Cashers in Stockbridge," said Bolton. "Officers located her there around 3 p.m. She was unharmed."

During the search, detectives had reportedly been in contact with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation to discuss having a Mattie's Call issued for Dees, due to a disability from which she suffers.

Bolton did not disclose the nature of her medical condition, and said at no point was foul play suspected in the woman's disappearance.

Several attempts to reach Dees by phone Wednesday were unsuccessful.

I've never heard of a Mattie's Call.
