KUTV -- Clearfield Police have issued a Missing and Endangered Person Alert for 85-year-old Amy Green.

Green is described as 5'6, 135 lbs., with gray hair and blue eyes. She was last seen just after 8 A.M. this morning at the Chancellor Gardens Assisted Living Center located at 1425 S. 1500 E. in Clearfield. Green was wearing dark blue pants, tennis shoes, and a tan sweater at the time of her disappearance.

Green has been diagnosed with Alzheimer's and also sufferes from dementia. It is believed that she does not currently have any medication with her.

Green is able to walk on her own, and has left Chancellor Gardens in the past without notifying anyone. She is also known to take the Frontrunner train between the Clearfield and Salt Lake City area.

Clearfield police locate missing Alzheimer's patient

CLEARFIELD — Police found an older woman with Alzheimer's disease who had wandered away from an assisted living center Saturday morning without a coat or her medication.

The 85-year-old woman left Chancellor Gardens, 1425 S. 1500 East, at about 8:30 a.m., according to Greg Krusi, Clearfield's assistant police chief. The department issued an endangered person advisory about 3 p.m.

She was located at about 3:55 p.m. at a home in Layton and was found to be in good condition, according to Clearfield police. She was released to her son.

The woman has walked away from the assisted living center in the past and has taken the FrontRunner train between Clearfield and Salt Lake City.

I am so glad Amy was found and is ok. It is so scary with our elderly people who suffer from alzheimers or dementia who disappear. I am so glad this case ended with her being found alive.
