Fairfield County Coroner James “Barkley” Ramsey has confirmed that remains found three years ago have finally been identified as those of missing Fairfield man William Hart.

Hart was reported missing nearly 10 years ago in October of 1999 when his residence was found with the door open. According to eye-witnesses, he was seen on Monticello Rd. traveling south toward Columbia.

Ramsey says a DNA study finally identified Hart on Wednesday bringing closure to the family’s 10 year ordeal.
