The Seminole County Sheriff's Office says a missing 1-year-old boy child and the man suspected of abducting him have been found.

An Amber Alert had been issued for the child, Jamir Abduli Worgs.

Authorities say the suspect left the child in a car seat on a front yard before going to trade the car he had allegedly stolen for drugs.

According to the Sheriff's Office, the child was found cold and soaking wet. The child was taken to the South Seminole Hospital and is believed to be fine.

The sheriff's office has the suspect and the mother in custody.

The Sheriff's Office said that shortly after 4 a.m. Sunday a mother loaned her vehicle to a male friend in east Altamonte and left her child in the car. The friend took the vehicle about two blocks away and got out of the car with the child still inside.

Another person who was only referred to as "Dave" got into the car and drove away.

LONGWOOD -- A missing toddler who was left in a stolen car was found Sunday morning in front of a Longwood home, safe and unharmed.

Jamir Worgs, 1, was still in his car seat, wet and cold. He was sent to be checked out at South Seminole Hospital.

Deputies arrested the suspect who stole car, whose name was reported as "Dave."

The boy's mother was also arrested. She and the stolen car suspect were both taken in for questioning.

The Seminole County Sheriff's Office confirmed the stolen car, a white 2006 Nissan Altima, was found earlier Sunday at a Walmart on Reinhart Road, in Sanford, but the boy and the suspect were not with the car.

According to the sheriff's office, the boy's mother loaned the car to a friend, leaving her son in the car.

Deputies told News 13 the suspect drove off the car with the boy still inside, and traded the vehicle to two people for drugs.

ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, Fla. -- Three people face felony charges on Sunday after a 1-year-old was found in a Longwood woman's front yard.

"I'm at my house, I opened the door and there's a kid, I mean, right there, dropped off," said the caller in a 911 recording.

Investigators said the boy was out in 40-degree weather alone and in the dark for hours.

Seminole County investigators said the boy's mother, Julinia Moreno, left the boy in the car for hours while she went to a friend's house and partied.

Police said she lent her car to her friend, Joshua L. Barnes, with her child still in it. At 3 a.m., detectives said Barnes went to a known drug house, where the car was stolen and the child later abandoned.

"You don't find babies outside your house like that," Lupita Jimenez said.

She said she couldn't believe her eyes. At 7:45 a.m., she found 1-year-old Jamir Worgs cold and alone in the front yard of her home on Cornwall Court in Sanford.

"He was just sitting there," she said. "He walked up and gave me his arms. I picked him up and said, "Where's your mommy?'"

Seminole County investigators said the 24-year-old mother Jamir in her Nissan Altima while she partied with friends.

"She probably didn't have a sitter, but she still wanted to party," Lt. James Clark said. "So she took the child, left the car running. The child sat there for hours."

Investigators said David W. Carver, a convicted burglar and thief, stole the car. He's the one investigators said abandoned Jamir in Jimenez' front yard.

"Anyone who treats a 1-year-old like that deserves to spend every minute in jail for that type of charge," Jimenez said.

At about 6:45 a.m., authorities issued an Amber Alert that led them to the mother's car in a Wal-Mart parking lot.

After dumping the baby, investigators said they believe Carver had traded the Nissan for drugs. The people who had the car told investigators where to find Carver.

The toddler was treated and released from South Seminole Hospital. He's now in state custody.

Moreno and Barnes will face felony child neglect charges.

Carver could face that charge, plus grand theft auto and kidnapping.

Talkers: 1-year-old crawls his way to safety

http://www.kansascity.com/news/nation/story/988123.html

ORLANDO, Fla. | A Longwood, Fla., woman found a 1-year-old boy crawling around her yard Sunday morning. The child had been abducted when the car in which he was sitting was stolen, authorities said.

Deputies said Jamir Abduli Worgs’ mother was partying in Altamonte Springs, Fla. — with her toddler in the car outside —when she let another man, Joshua Barnes, 24, borrow the vehicle. He drove the 2006 Nissan Altima, with the baby inside, to a known drug house, deputies said. He left the car running and unlocked while he went inside, and that’s when, authorities say, David Carver, 36, stole the vehicle.

The Seminole County Sheriff’s Office issued an Amber Alert for the child and eventually found the car at a Wal-Mart. But neither Carver nor the child was inside. Authorities said Carver, who was arrested later, may have traded the car for drugs.

Jamir was soaking wet and cold when he was found near a fence, authorities said, and apparently had been crawling for hours.

That poor baby. When the woman says he lifted his arms to her....breaks my heart for him. At least the guy that stole the car left him in someone's yard, he could have hurt the baby or worse. I'm glad this little boy is away from his mother and I hope they throw the book at her.
