Spritz it with de-tangler and brush, push the little curls all around and put a BIG bow in. Did a pretty good job even if I say so myself!!!!!

As you can see, it's one big bike. It's basically an overgrown tandem. The little one pedals as fast as she can, if only because her pedals are going as fast as everyone else's. How much she's pushing is open to debate.
When they got the bike, she was 2 going on 3, and they had something called the "child stoker kit" that ran a secondary chain perpendicular to the main one. That secondary chain was connected to a raised pedal assembly. That way, her short little legs could reach.
In October 2008, the family participated in a costumed ride in Denver (they live in Colorado Springs). They went as the running of the bulls in Pamploma. The little one had horns on her helmet. Everyone else wore white shirts with their bike shorts, red sashes, and fake mustaches.
There's a lot of info about the bike and the rides they've taken at www.quintbike.com

In honor of Edgar Allen Poe's 200th birthday...
"....I NEVER knew anyone so keenly alive to a joke as the king was. He
seemed to live only for joking. To tell a good story of the joke kind, and
to tell it well, was the surest road to his favor. Thus it happened that
his seven ministers were all noted for their accomplishments as jokers.
They all took after the king, too, in being large, corpulent, oily men, as
well as inimitable jokers. Whether people grow fat by joking, or whether
there is something in fat itself which predisposes to a joke, I have never
been quite able to determine; but certain it is that a lean joker is a
rara avis in terris.
About the refinements, or, as he called them, the 'ghost' of wit, the king
troubled himself very little. He had an especial admiration for breadth in
a jest, and would often put up with length, for the sake of it.
Over-niceties wearied him. He would have preferred Rabelais' 'Gargantua'
to the 'Zadig' of Voltaire: and, upon the whole, practical jokes suited
his taste far better than verbal ones...."
For me, I'll skip the practical type jokes...

Kami, I love getting the gardens ready for SPRING too! Right now tho I am looking out at so much snow I have to wonder if it will ever melt. The deer are here eating our bushes and they love to eat the loriopee (sp?) which edges all the daylily gardens. That's Ok tho, they are hungary.
We had a mama deer and her two babies this summer, they still come but now the little ones are all grown. I'm glad the hunters didn't get them.

Freezing fog!!??........ :g:
sounds scary
It was a dark and freezing fog night... :71526:
......as I drove on the dark deserted road toward work......freezin' fog surrounded me like a mist from the bayou and kept freezin' and freezin' until I could barely see the evil ice on the bridge and I surely felt like I was in the fridge. But low and behold the sun came out after I slowly crawled along the road and finally made it into work....what a jerk!!!!

Hey Ali....just catching up from yesterday and here is your answer: The "Trinity" is a Cajun vegetable combination using equal parts bell peppers, celery, and onions. It is most commonly used in gumbos, soups and sauces for etouffees. It's French counterpart, known as Mirepoix, is equal parts carrots, celery, and onions.

No Grins not my cat, my cat passed away. OMG it is a white out here!
My cat was called Kitty and he was so wonderful. He never left the property and when in the house he sat in the deep window sill. I live in a 1700 log house and the windows are very deep. He was just there, never did anything LOL He was soooooo perfect never bad or funny,-----very SERIOUS CAT WAS HE! He was spooky at times as I think he saw some GHOSTS here! Seriously! I think George Washington slept here. :0t31: Kitty said all the ghosts were in the dining room, so George also ate here! :0t31:
Oh dear, White out worse now! Poor DH he is on the way to the airport going to Singapore. At lease it will be hot there.

Seriously anyone heard from Al Gore lately? :cray: White out now whiter than white. Can't see :groan:
Hang in there OC!!! Would love to see a picture of your log house.:kissyface4:

You will if I ever find the dang cord that connects my camera to the computer. I can't imagine what I did with it. :rolleye0001:
I Don't use mine often, but still leave the cord connected to computer which eliminates 2 steps when I do want to use it.... finding and connecting it..
Bought my Kodak digital about 8 years ago when they were much larger and everytime I want to use it, my family points and laughs. :0t31:

It was a blast! We were the only people there and we had the entire castle area to ourselves. We ran around like idiots wearing wizard hats and crowns. We left Teagan in the great hall where she busied herself making us "lunch" in the big kettle on the fire. When she served... Jess got a nice juicy plastic apple, she got a bunch of grapes and I... well I got a carrot! We laughed ourselves sick.
Then we woke up the dragon. :blondblush113268230
When I was little my friends all got to have mercurochrome on their owies and I had to have tincture of iodine. I yearned to have the prettier orangy red, so, now, why do I only have iodine?
ANNOUNCEMENT! Cast is off, altho, that is all that is better. Monday will be c-scan.... doc says he thinks is maybe volar plate tear and may not change. Well, isn't that special!!! Added volar plate to my vocabulary.
I'm not sure if that's good news at all, or just bad. What is a volar plate?? DrJan? help. :0009:

Hey Ali....just catching up from yesterday and here is your answer: The "Trinity" is a Cajun vegetable combination using equal parts bell peppers, celery, and onions. It is most commonly used in gumbos, soups and sauces for etouffees. It's French counterpart, known as Mirepoix, is equal parts carrots, celery, and onions.
Thankee, Bayou... I knew it wasn't THE Trinity, but, otherwise, was clueless. I've probably had it in gumbo and dint know. I have a few credits French language, but, mirepoix didn't come up during those semesters. :0t13:

LOL@owies
Mercurochrome was considered dangerous as it had mercury in it=tiny amount but...taken off market.
A tear sounds like it should be fixable=athletes get those fixed and play! See a sports medicine doc=
This clinic is involved in sports injjuries... it may be that i didn't have an injury... knowingly, anyway. He's had me tell the story 3 times... I think he keeps hoping I'll remember jamming it, but I haven't jammed it. Was jez sittin' dere, nere doin' nuttin', jez waddin' teevee. (Last sentence is a family joke, taken from a tv show from long ago. Actually, was driving when finger suddenly dropped.)
I've read a lot on the net about this often being an athlete's injury. Have also read of instances it is neurological. I'm presuming if the c-scan shows a tear in the volar plate, the problem is easier..... It's unknown what the cause is. I found the following which is scary:
Simultaneous C7 radiculopathy and C8 segmental spinal cord lesion due to cervical spondylosis at the C6/7 intervertebral level were the causes of drop fingers in the present case. Unilateral drop finger is a clinical symptom commonly associated with posterior interosseus nerve palsy, but mention should be made about cervical lesions causing drop finger. Electromyographic abnormalities of the triceps and first dorsal interosseus muscle were the key findings for differentiating the cause from paralysis of the posterior interosseous nerve.
Key words Muscle atrophy - Cervical radiculopathy - Cervical myelopathy - Cervical spondylosis - Drop finger

Holy cow, that cat has the cutest face I ever saw!!!!
Isn't he a sweetie? He's such a mama's boy too!
When he came here he was so tiny. He was born in my sister's barn and it took her all day to get ahold of him! His eyes were still blue and he was eating on his own, his mama had kicked him and his siblings out of the loft already.
I ended up sitting up with him all night in my room. I just let him decide when he'd come out of the carrier and look around, have a snack, etc... He would hiss and spit like crazy if you got too close to him. At about 6AM, he was so tired he was just wobbling as he struggled to stay awake. Then he just fell over and let me pet him. He started to purr and then he went wee-wee on my bed!
He's been my baby ever since!

Rest now rest now

soon soon

offer every agony

for someone you love
pain wins souls
forever
whip lashes hurt
but refusing my love
hurt me more
I was willing to bear it
offer it for sins
of others
do the same
I truly do collect every tear you shed
shall I show you when I welcome you
show you all who are here in glory
because you did not let a moment of pain
go wasting go now gather them
offer with me
to our Father
our pain
be with me in the Garden
weep with me
but only for a brief season
there is a reason

you will rise with me

Good morning Katchers.... Sorry I've been MIA for a while, but ... well, remember I told you about that client who was coughing and sick? Yep, sure enough, I've been progressing from the tight feeling in my throat, through the slight dry cough, achy feelings, very sore throat, more coughing, etc., etc., etc., to fever and loose phlegmy cough. I couldn't work yesterday and ended up sleeping almost all day ... something I never do, sleep in the daytime...
I could sure use some of those Klatcher SPLOOSHES with the healing effects.
I'm a terrible patient. I'm sick so seldom I have no patience with it. OK, I took the pill, I wanna feel better NOW! :45024:
Itzmee, some of that shrimp stew would sure be good today. In fact that's about the only thing that I can think of that would taste good. I just wasn't hungry all day yesterday, and not really hungry now, but ever since I read you were making it that's all I can think of.
Ali, the Trinity and Mirepoix pretty much fundamentals of cooking down here.... I've always wondered why the ever-present garlic wasn't mentioned in either, but finally decided that garlic was such a staple it wasn't considered necessary to mention it. I worked with a lovely native New Orleanian years ago. She was a terrific cook and when she'd bring something to work... most of which I was unfamiliar with, I'd ask her how to make it and she always started the same way, "First you saute the onion and garlic....."
Well, I think I'll go fix a bowl of oatmeal and go back to bed. Y'all be good... I know where I'll find everyone tomorrow.... watching The Game!

:kissyface4:
PatC Sweetie, I wish someone could whip up some shrimp stew for you. I have clam, potato and cheese soup here that might also sound good;
My mom didn't cook with garlic, so, I didn't either until much later in life. Now, it is a staple in my kitchen.
When first married and not knowing how to cook, my husband and I were discussing garlic. He didn't know anything about it either, but said he liked it, so we bought some and that evening I peeled a few bulbs and put it by his plate.
That took care of garlic in our place from then on, as he spent a miserable night with a garlic flavored upset tummy.
Too bad you can't bill the tax client for coming there while contagious! Get well soon so you will feel like you normal vivacious self. xoxoxoxo

:rolleye0001::friends3:Good Afternoon Klatchers, I slept thru the morning today! :happy0158: DH is gone, he boarded the plane last night at 10 pm and is still on the plane. :groan: Imagine and about 6 more hours to go. I don't sleep good when he isn't here till come the morning and I am zonked by then.
Happy belated BIRTHDAY Anna! :kissyface4:
I see Grins was on a real poetic roll yesterday, what would we do without him and Grins you have a gift. :friends3:
PatC hope today your cold takes a turn for the better! I know what you are going thru, I have a terrible cold also, which is driving me bats. I usually never get a cold, but this one is a doooozzy! I can't take any cold medicine so run the vaporizor to breathe. I made a shrimp dish last night for dinner, absent the garlic tho, can't handle it. Now that I am up, thinking of going back to bed. Not taking the cold with me tho :67302:
Tam the castle adventure sounded wonderful, it is always so much fun to tour the old places and learn all the history. Not many castles around here, only one that I can think of and it isn't real close. I remember it had a lot of secret passages tho, which were a lot of fun. They also had a secret tunnel which leads to the river. I guess incase they needed a quick escape! :francis:
Alibar, hope all turns out OK with your finger. I have heard of a dropped foot but never a dropped finger. Hope it turns out something which they can help you for.:friends3:
Our local paper's headlines yesterday said!
IS IT SUNDAY YET? :67302:
Everyone have a super Saturday! I'm going back to bed and try to sweat this cold out. Does that work?:1187603408.CR.Mothe:
One more thing, this cat that I am taking care of finally came out from behind the sofa during the night and filled up the litter box! ouuuuu Now What? I guess I have to buy a scooper pooper or just change the litter. :45024:
She is still traumatized being here and is still hunkered down behind the sofa. :hide: She did sneak out while I was sleeping and ate her food too! Think she is avoiding me!
