I look forward to Survivor. I have had a lot of trouble picking a favorite in the past few seasons, but will watch anyway. I hope they give us a group with lots of personality, and a variety of ages, nationalities, etc.

I never do that anymore. If I choose to like someone before the show starts, inevitably, I will actually hate them. weird but true.
I'm soooo ready!! I haven't even seen pics of this season's contestants. I just hope there ain't nare a Corrinne this year!!

Same here. The info on them is often VERY misleading. What was the name of the woman who was supposed to be an olympic athlete (last Survivor), but turned out to be a hefty, lazy dud? She needed a crane just to get her up that hill. I thought she was going to come in there and win every comp. So, I am not good at "reading" people.

I think they said she's 53 or 54. I thought older just looking at her.
Did anyone else think that was kind of a weak first episode? I hope it picks up!

What makes the show weaker is how little of their week we get to see. Then they will spend half the show repeating what we have already seen. If it were on twice a week, we could get more interested, because we would understand their personalities more. The editing leaves a lot to be desired IMO....but I still watch. LOL

I think they picked the right person to boot. But that older lady is already on my last nerve.
Oh, and how about "Coach?" He reminds me of that Ace guy from last season. Way too arrogant.

You got it on Coach! He reminds me of Ace too!
Claudia, I did think it was weak. I actually got a little disinterested. I'm sure it'll pick up when we start forming opinions of them.

She does have a crazed look in her eyes doesn't she? And did you see how she just wasn't connecting with what Jeff was telling her in the beginning? She was jumping up and down excited that she got to ride in a helicopter to camp...and Jeff was like "You'd better watch out...you need to get in these people's good graces again." And it just didn't register with her! She kept smiling and acting all excited while her tribe-mates were seething with anger!

Coach has to go. Did you guys see Probst reacting to Coach strutting to the voting area? :0t31:
I'm okay with Candace going, she was a bit much. But I'd like to know who took Candace's friend (can't remember her name) aside and clued her in on the vote. We didn't see that, did we?
I'm really liking Taj and Jerry.

I hate to say it, but I am completely unimpressed with this season. I know it's only been 2 episodes, but it better pick up quick or I am going to bail. No one stands out to me, usually by now I have some idea of who I like, or at least which tribe, but this time I can't pick either. Borrrrrring.

I liked the show having only one challenge this week, it gave more time to hear what the others were thinking and see what they were or were not doing to help with aid to their tribe mates.
Know things are fair in game play, just did not like seeing the girls pulling off the bra's of the other girls just to slow them down.
Would not break my heart if this were to be the last season.

Mos.. I agree with liking only the one challenge. It helped me learn some of the players a little better. It's usually 1/2 way thru the season before I know some of them.

No, Coach voted for Erinn. Did you see his face when he didn't get his own way? That's the only part of Jerry leaving that I liked! That Coach didn't get his own way and that he was not chosen to be the leader! :0t31:
What is up with that? Nobody WANTS to be the leader! This guy's arrogance is unbelievable! Tyson's not far behind him either.

Jerry was a nice guy, tho not so sure he didn't want to go home. Had he been all that ill, there are medics close by, all he had to do was ask for a check up, as have many in past episodes.
Tho we never see them, the survivors are surrounded by production people. such as those filming Jerry talking about his stomach being upset.
It has occured to me that he may have been holding back gas from the beans, causing his tummy to hurt like it did.
Coach is a real jerk. For a tribe to start off as strong as they did, they sure are hitting rock bottom fast.
Not sure either team needs a leader, they just need team work and communication, such as the one tribe did blind folded and still worked together to win.

Why is it that one tribe is always disfunctional, arguing among themselves, and too wrapped up in who they want to vote off than how to WIN comps to keep from going to tribal council?

It seems to me it's because one tribe always has a person like Coach. That person's absolute need to control everything and make all the decisions, makes it impossible for the tribe to work as a team. That's JMO.

Jerry did see the medics. There's only so much they can do for you while you're in the game. Like Sierra had antibiotics at the start of the game due to having strep. (which is dangerous because it's so contagious!) Imagine a whole tribe with strep!
He didn't mention it in his day after video but on Survivor Talk over at Entertainment Weekly, he explained that he'd gotten a stomach virus. It took a couple of days before he felt better.

I cannot imagine many things worse than being in a humid, tropical climate...little food and shelter...and having a stomach virus to boot. The comps were taking every bit of energy from him. That sort of thing can be dangerous to your health due to the dehydration, etc. They actually did him a favor by letting him go home to rest in the comfort of his home (or the temporary place they stay). Maybe he can come back for another show because he was a fan favorite

There are so few TV shows that I actually plan ahead to watch. That is why I was so irritated that I was late getting home and missed half the show. I had taken my mother to do some shopping and she wanted a drive thru milkshake that left me sitting in line 2 miles away watching the clock on the dash and grumbling. Yes, it is powerful. Sometimes it a curse. I'm not able to watch any movies with Renee Zellwegger in them. She smells like vinegar.

Wonder if they wash her clothes in it to color fast them, but use too much. My friend use to wear the colored Wranglers and would do that but you only use a cap full (the vinegar cap).
Do you douse her in powder and lotion??
Remember the Family Guy were Peter tells Christina Aguliara that she hurts all the senses, and she licks her armpit?
I wouldn't mind smell-o-vision on the Food Network but then I'd be really fat.

You can always watch it online at CBS. I will have to rewatch there too since they replaced my DVR today.
Speaking of... I can't set the new one to record Survivor or Lost or Big Love yet. Seems the dang thing only has a day or two of schedule in it, so the shows don't show up yet. :madranting94dp:

That's what we thought too! But maybe they weren't allowed to. I kept saying that they should try what dancers and figure skaters do when they spin. The idea is to focus on something in the distance and keep your eyes on it as you spin. Easier said than done though, you almost need to turn your head opposite of the way you're spinning. It was pretty funny to watch though.
I almost wet myself at TC. I was so scared they were going to vote Taj out.

Well, well, well; so Joe thought Sydney was safe? Like Gomer Pyle said, "Surprise, surprise!" I was literally holding my breath during the vote count though, the look on JT's face had me a little worried for Taj. Thankfully the speech about loyalty at tribal council must have hit home with the people I thought were gonna flip on Taj. I can't wait till the merge (darn spoiler last night) to see the hidden alliance members take the game over. I pray that Erin or Coach goes next, there's not enough room in all of Brazil for Coach's ego. As usual, JMO.

I was worried about Taj too! I'm so glad they went with Sydney. And according to the previews, next week is the merge. I'm so glad Taj told T.J. about the idol. Perfect timing! Taj didn't have much choice, that little sneak TJ had already gone through her things - shoot, I thought he was gonna take it then and there and hide it in the woods or something. I don't know how far that boy can be trusted. I got a real kick out of them making another fake idol and Joe thinking her could save Sydney with it. The whole fake idol thing is a scream, and the players are getting better and better at making them look authentic. I wonder if Joe will ever figure out the truth?

I was scared to death during TC last night! I think both JT and Stephen came to a point where they had to determine where their line was that they wouldn't cross. I'm glad they chose well.
The look on Joe was priceless! He now sees that he's alone for reals. I just loved Stephen putting his hand on Taj's shoulder too!

That was awesome! I really didn't think JT was going to go through with it. Especially after seeing what Sierra went through. But why do they hate Sierra so much? JT called her a lying b*tch. We didn't see that! We've never seen any of that. What are they hiding from us and why?
I have to wonder if Coach even realizes that Probst is totally making fun of him? He wants the strong yet votes out Brendan and there's a difference? HOW? The guy is a complete tool. His ego alone could bench press 300lbs
I love the previews for next week too. Debbie realizes it's her and Coach now. Now he wants Sierra to back him and he probably thinks Erinn is in his pocket too. They were idiots to vote out Timbiras after the merge, and now they are paying for their poor choices. I love it. Karma baby, karma!
TC was beautiful! All the smirking and nastiness got wiped away once that second Tyson vote came up. Did you SEE Sierra's face? She was like, WTH? A miracle came through for her. Tyson was furious. Sweet sweet revenge.
So, as of now, it looks like 3 of the F4 will be JT, Taj and Stephen. Hard to say if they'll drag Sierra along as the F2 goat or not. That could backfire on them since she is Timbira. The jury may be that bitter and she would get Brendan's vote. The one with no dirt on their hands? TAJ. I would love that, but it probably won't happen.
OOOOOOOOOOoooooooooH! Excellent summary, Tam!
I was downright ticked when I thought they were voting Sierra out. (I know you know that! LOL) Anyway, I'm with you - why do they hate her so much. I actually like her.
If I had been Sierra, I would've outted the Exile Island alliance, just to show Coach, Debbie and the others, that I wasn't the only one that had an alliance. Of course, Coach and the other butts have an alliance, but they were ticked with Sierra and Brendan.
What would've happened if Sierra had outted Stephen and Taj as a part of her alliance with Brendan?
She actually may be better off that she didn't out them, because now she can go to them and use that as proof that she kept her word, even after they turned on her and voted out Brendan.
It just broke my heart seeing her beg like that.

Tyson was a good villain, Claudia, I'll give him that. But he was mean. I don't like mean, I don't think there's ever a good reason to be mean just to be mean. It's not funny or amusing to me. So much of what Tyson had to say seemed rehearsed, as if he thought it would get him more camera time. It worked. That's the reason I hate Mariano so much. He was just mean because he thought it was funny to be mean.
I don't really care one way or another about Sierra. I just want to know WTH is going on there that we're not being shown? Why are they hiding the fact that she's not only disliked, she's despised!

I don't think it would have helped her to out Stephen and Taj, FM. Say she had done that... well Coach would have said something profound as the proof is in the pudding or somewhat. The fact remains, Taj, Stephen and JT voted FOR Brendan, not for Coach.

It's not my favorite season, but the end game is really shaping up to be a hoot and a holler.
There are plenty of people who like Tyson, I'm just not one of them.
Taj is my favorite, which is why I'm sure she won't win. I've only correctly picked the winner ONCE in 18 seasons. That was Sandra in the Pearl Islands and I picked her the second or third episode. All based on Jon's confessional that he had a million dollars that SHE wasn't the one.

In the end, it turned out that Sierra made the right move. I have a bad temper, and sometimes no control, so in anger, I would've outted them. And you're right, Coach would've made an example of it.

I'm one of those that Tyson was growing on, Claudia, so you aren't totally alone! I thought he was funny although he did seem a bit mean at TC last night. I don't like kicking someone when they are down like he was doing with Sierra. I think Tyson would have been more broadly accepted by "fans" if he hadn't aligned himself with Coach. But that's just my 2 cents...
As someone who usually roots for the underdog, I was happy that Sierra made it but would have been even happier if she had made it through by winning immunity - if only to piss Coach off. But I'm guessing he's pissed off enough with his buddy gone and that the tribe didn't fall in lock step behind him. When that guys starts rambling about warriors, dragons, falling on the sword, and the like, I wonder if he realizes that this is just Survivor....dude is a little wacked.
My personal fav this season is Taj...hope she makes it but I have a feeling Stephen and JT will turn on her.

I think it aired in 2000.

Yes - They used to eat bugs. In fact, last night I commented that I hadn't noticed them eating anything weird on the last few seasons.
I love the weird food eating challenges.

Well, after seeing Coach and Debbie both lie through their not brushed for 29 days teeth, I would not be happy knowing they were the leaders in my kids' school.
I did read earlier in the season that Coach was terminated from his job. When he left to go on Survivor, he requested only one week off. DUMMY. Even if he had been voted off the first week he wouldn't get to go home until the end.
Debbie is a prinicipal at a school in Auburn. My hubby said she has aged a lot over the past few years. I was shocked when she said she was 46. I hope I don't look so wrinkled and dried up at 46. She should be ashamed too.
Oh.. and I despise them both.

But when there's a bag of hot air flying around declaring how they have never lied, never will and how they have such integrity... I'm going to be pizzed when that person tells a bald faced lie, gets caught and then denies it!
And what is UP with Erinn? I gotta go find out what was written at the bottom of her vote for Stephen. Please tell me that this foolish girl doesn't believe she can single handedly flip this game on its head? That's a dangerous thing to play with when you are an alliance of ONE.

"...HYPOCRITE: Coach. Coach. Coach. Dragon Slayer, you know I love you, but dude, you are one major hypocrite. Coach: ''Sierra is gonna do whatever she must to get as far as she can without any honor.'' Honor? Oh for crying out loud. It's a game and YOU are playing it as much as anyone! You lie as much as anyone else, Coach. You do see that, right? Please tell me you are smiling as you read this because you know that I know that you know that we all know that you know! Ya know? I just saw Survivor on demand last night and am FLOORED! Coach disgusts me more and more every week... I hope he and his little minion Debbie get canned ASAP. Honor and integrity? Those two wouldn't know it if it slapped them in their lying mouths. I'm disappointed in JT and Steven; first for even considering voting out Taj, and now for voting Sierra out thinking the drama would stop. Silly boys deserve what they get from here on out. I wanna see Coach, Debbie and Erinn go, in that order.

I actually prefer the old Survivor where the challenges were eating gross things and living on the land - it was more "survivor-esque". Strength and Endurance and Gut.
I'd be one mad little puppy if some huge person tried ripping my body from a pole or elbowed me in the mouth during one of these strength challenges they do now.
Yes, there has to be some untruths in the game. I believe last year the Soldier even had to break ethics and lie a little in the game. Some just take it too far and think just because it's a GAME, they can use that as an excuse.
As an employer though, I'd be very unhappy with the ethics of my employee on the show. Specially a teacher or those involved with children who would be watching.
I'd much rather have Debbie & Erinn taken out and leave Coach in. He'll hang himself in the public eye. And it'll give a greater chance for Taj, JT or Stephen to get the win in the F2 if they go against Coach.
None of it matters except for NOT letting Coach win in the end.
:yes2: He sure was.

I really don't care who wins now. I'm just glad Coach did not win. I guess my favorite is Taj and then Stephen. (probably means that JT and Erinn will be F2. LOL)

I think what happened is JT told Coach he wouldn't vote him out, so he voted for Erinn and maybe he did say something to Stephen that clued him in to vote for Coach. I think they were on the same page, except JT didn't want to go back on his word to Coach so he left it up to Stephen. :shrug1: JT & Coach voted for Errin, and Stephen, Taj and Errin voted for Coach.

I could be wrong, but I don't think the hidden immunity idol has ever saved anyone. It seems like they always hang on to it too long. Joe found the fake immunity idol that Taj made. He never had a chance to play it because he was medevacced out due to his knee. He did ask Probst if he could go back to camp and give it to Erinn or find out if it was real or not. (he suspected) but he was not allowed to do that.
As far as I know, Stephen still has the idol Taj found. Now it's just a souvenir, since the last time it could have been used was the night Coach went home.

J.T. lost me when he stuck so close to Coach......which means he will probably win. The worst thing about the reunion will be listening to Coach's babblings.

I am not sure. I guess some sort of endurance comp. Just guessing that there will be an endurance comp with the first out to leave immediately. Will the winner get to pick who goes to final vote? Somehow I am getting the procedure mixed up with how Big Brother picks the final two.....?

Joe found the fake immunity idol that Taj made. He never had a chance to play it because he was medevacced out due to his knee. He did ask Probst if he could go back to camp and give it to Erinn or find out if it was real or not. (he suspected) but he was not allowed to do that.
As far as I know, Stephen still has the idol Taj found. Now it's just a souvenir, since the last time it could have been used was the night Coach went home.
Thanks  I couldn't remember who ended up with the fake one. I still think it's pretty hilarious that Taj did that!

Oh I am looking forward to it tonight!!! I'd really be happy if Taj won it all, but I'd accept Stephen or JT too. I'm just glad Coach is out. :girl_haha:

She'll vote for Erinn if Erinn can make it to the final. That would be funny if she won.

Oh now that would be karma!
Wasn't it Taj who found the idol and gave it away?

Yes it was. Stupid girl, not that it would've helped her tonight though! I'm still trying to figure out what the strategy is tonight since Taj sure wasn't any threat with immunity challenges! :waitasec:
