WALHALLA — The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office is searching for a missing Seneca woman who is severely dependent on insulin.

Nadia Mae Kondwros, 31, of 409 South Cove Road was last seen by family members on Feb. 3. Authorities describe her as 5-foot-7-inches, 120 pounds, Caucasian, with blonde hair and green eyes.

The majority of Kondwros’ insulin medication is still at her home and authorities are treating the case as a medical emergency, according to sheriff’s office officials. She drives a green 1994 Jeep Cherokee Laredo with a South Carolina license plate of AEI448.

Officials do not have reason to believe that foul play was involved in this case.

Residents with information about the location of Kondwros should call the sheriff’s office at (864) 638-4111.

Seneca woman who was reported missing has been found

Tuesday, February 17, 2009

SENECA, S.C. — A Seneca woman who has been missing since Feb. 3 was found Monday night at a West Union residence.

Lt. Travis C. Tilson, the public information officer for the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office, said that Nadia Mae Kondwros, 31, of 409 South Cove Road was found around 11 p.m. and was well. She was last seen on Feb. 3 by members of her family, according to sheriff’s office officials.

News media outlets reported on Monday night that she was missing, Tilson said. Kondwros is severely dependent on insulin, and her disappearance was considered by authorities to be a medical emergency, according to sheriff’s office officials.

“We got a phone call from someone who knew where she was at,” Tilson said. “We went to that location to make sure she was alive and well.”

Tilson said the majority of Kondwros’ insulin is at her home, but he did not know if Kondwros had returned to her residence as of Tuesday afternoon.

Tilson declined to provide further information about the West Union residence.
