VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - A Virginia Beach family won't rest until their loved one returns home safe.
"It's just not the same without her. It's like a part of us is missing," said Ivett Escamilla.
Escamilla says she and her mom have been looking for her sister since Saturday.
"I'm missing, missing a lot," said Ana Rivera.
Rivera says she last saw her daughter, 19-year-old Adelina Escamilla in their home Saturday, Valentine's Day.
Adelina had plans with her boyfriend later that night, but when Ana returned home after a quick errand -- her daughter was gone.
Ivett says her sister never left the house without asking permission.
She's afraid Adelina could be in some kind of trouble.
Ana says Adelina told her everything.
"She my best daughter, never have problems, never have something, I don't know," said Rivera.
The family is especially worried because Adelina has celiac disease. If she has wheat or gluten she becomes extremely sick, weak and disoriented. Her family says she spent many years in and out of hospitals.
Ana Rivera says she hasn't slept since Saturday.
Adelina, who graduated Princess Anne High School in 2008 was going to Tidewater Community College, studying to be a lawyer.
Rivera says she keeps going to TCC, hoping to find her daughter. She's called Adelina's friends and boyfriend and gone to their houses.
"But I can't find her," said Rivera.
Which is why Adelina's mom and sisters are hoping someone who reads this story will.
"It would be really weird not having my older sister with me the rest of my life," said Ivett Escamilla.
Virginia Beach police say the case is being investigated by the department's missing persons unit.
If you have any information that can help police, call the Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP.
