SEBRING — The Highlands County Sheriffs Office is trying to locate a missing endangered woman and needs help from the community.

“Her mother said she was intoxicated, she got out of the car on the way home from the store,” said Detective Jamie Davidson of the HCSO. “Being an adult she is not missing unless she is a danger to herself or someone else.”

Rebecca Jane Spinks, 37, a white female with short blonde hair and blue eyes, has been missing since Thursday, Feb. 19 at 6 p.m.

Davidson would not say whether or not she was on or needed any medication, citing HIPAA privacy laws.

Her last known whereabouts are in the area of Cemetery Road and Douglas Avenue in Sebring, near where she lives. She was on foot wearing a white shirt and red jeans.

She is 5 feet 5 inches tall and her weight is unknown.

Deputies from the HCSO searched for Spinks last night, but to no avail.

“They had a K9 track, they canvassed the neighborhood and made contact with some acquaintances of hers,” Davidson said.

None of the acquaintances had heard from her and the k9 track was unsuccessful.

Anyone with information on Spinks whereabouts are urged to contact Det. Davidson at 402-7254.
