NEW YORK (Reuters) - Comedian Jerry Seinfeld and his wife were sued on Monday over her top-selling cookbook for kids by a rival author who complained of plagiarism and accused the star of defaming her on TV host David Letterman's show.

The suit, filed by cookbook author Missy Chase Lapine, claims Jessica Seinfeld copied her own book that explores how to sneak healthy foods into kids' diets. It also accuses the top comedian of embarking on a "slanderous attack" against Lapine on U.S. national television shows.

I saw Jerry's appearance on David Letterman and he was so arrogant and demeaning of the author Missy Lapine, it was appalling. I hope she wins her suit against them and knocks him down a few pegs. :71541:

Someone just gave me a copy of this book yesterday. I read where she fixes these purees every week and Jerry helps her on Sunday nights after the kids go to sleep. I'm thinking..."frog toes! You've got a housekeeper that helps the nanny feed the kids."

I think the timing of the books being released will play into Lapine's hands. Her's did come out first.

I think you are right. Lapine is hardly a stalker or wacko. I used to think I liked Seinfeld, but the lesson here is that celebrities are usually a far cry from the character they portray on tv.
