Authorities are still looking for 30-year-old Frankfort resident Miles Woodside and his 2-year-old daughter Breanna. Woodside failed to return the girl to her mother, Athena Fritz, during a scheduled custodial exchange Friday afternoon. An Amber Alert was issued for the two Saturday morning.
Investigators Investigators now believe Woodside is somewhere near Ft. Payne, Alabama. They say they have a reliable source who was reportedly in contact with Woodside in the state on Friday afternoon. That source told investigators that the toddler was healthy and safe.
On
Sunday evening, Woodside's uncle issued a plea for him to surrender and return his daughter to authorities.
"We urge you and beg you to do the right thing," said Jim Goodman during a press conference in Frankfort.
Goodman told reporters that Woodside loves his daughter very much and "worships the ground she walks on." He said he believes Woodside will "come to his senses and do the right thing."
Goodman said he saw Woodside with his daughter about two weeks ago and had no reason to believe something like this would happen.
Woodside's parents live in Alabama and relatives here say they're not surprised he headed that direction.
If you see Woodside, authorities urge you to contact local law enforcement immediately. They say he is reportedly depressed and in possession of a firearm.

We just had the Amber Alert for Brianna go across our TV screen, out of Fort Payne. First time I've ever seen it, but I'm glad they're doing it.
Search for missing Kentucky toddler continues in Alabama
WHAS11) – The search for a missing Kentucky girl has gone national.
Police think two-year-old Breanna Woodside and her father could be in Alabama, where he has family.
Miles Woodside’s family issued a tearful plea this afternoon and we’re learning more about why police say his daughter is in danger.
Over the weekend, WHAS11 learned Miles Woodside, who goes by the name Tom, failed to bring his daughter back after taking her for visitation Friday morning.
Since then, WHAS11 has learned Tom turned up with the girl in Alabama.
We also checked into Woodside’s past and it offers a glimpse at why police are so worried right now.
The Frankfort Police Department was the last place anyone in Kentucky saw Tom and Breanna Woodside together.
Tom met the girl’s mother there Friday morning to pick her up for a court allowed visitation.
The two had to begin meeting at the police department back in January, after Tom Woodside was arrested for menacing and terroristic threatening.
That incident, described in a handwritten complaint, says Tom threatened to assault the girl’s mother.
A separate court filing in which Breanna’s mother, Athena Fritz, sought sole custody of her daughter indicated concerns about Woodside’s loss of residence, drug addiction and mental health.
In a psychiatric evaluation filed with the court, it refers to Woodside having a long history of mental health problems including suicidal tendencies, hallucinations and a seven year addiction to methamphetamine.
That same report indicated Woodside has been drug free for more than 7 years and was most concerned about spending time with his daughter.
“We hope that the individual does realize that everybody in this situation is seeking the safety of the child first,” says Major Fred Deaton of Frankfort police.
Woodside was spotted with Breanna in Ft. Payne Alabama Friday night, leading authorities there to issue an Amber Alert Monday.
Woodside’s mother and sister spoke at a press conference asking Woodside to return peacefully.
“Just come home Tom, come home,” plead his mother, Mary Love.
They also say that despite his past history, they don’t believe Woodside would do anything to harm Breanna.
“Him and the baby’s mother just don’t get along at all. He really thinks he’s just keeping her safe, he does,” says Love.
One thing working in police’s favor is that Woodside is not believed to have any money.
He reportedly had to borrow $40 from a friend to stay in a motel room Friday night.
One thing officers are worried about is that he is believed to have his grandfather’s gun, which he allegedly took the same day he borrowed his car and drove off to Alabama.

Police: Amber Alert Car Located In Tenn.
WLEX-TV
updated 12 minutes ago
Police in Tennessee say they have located the car used by a father who did not return his two-year daughter after a court-ordered visit in Frankfort last week.
A state-wide Amber Alert continues for 2-year old Breanna Woodside, who has been missing since Friday afternoon. Police say her father, Miles Woodside, 30, was visiting her on Friday and was supposed to return her to her mother in the afternoon. He never showed. Police say he stole his grandfather's car and a Smith and Wesson gun.
According to the website of WRCB-TV in Chattanoonga, Tennesee, the car Woodside was driving was found in the parking lot of an America's Best Value Inn hotel on Tuesday morning. Police say the vehicle was cold, so had likely been parked there for an extensive time. The hotel's manager says he does not have any record of Woodside checking in to the hotel, however, and the hotel does not have surveillence cameras in the portion of the parking lot the car was located in.
Former classmate Bobby Clement says he met with Woodside Friday night at a McDonald's in Fort Payne, Alabama, which is located in the northeast part of the state about 70 miles from Huntsville. Clement said they talked about what Woodside was doing.
"After about an hour I was just shooting the bull with him he asked me what he should do," said Clement. "I said 'what are you doing"' and he talked about taking her away. I told (him) it wasn't the right thing to do if anything it's just adding fire to the core.
Police are looking into tips from people who say they saw Woodside in the Huntsville, Alabama area.
Breanna Woodside is 3 feet tall and weighs 35 pounds. She has straight blond hair passed her shoulders. She was last seen wearing purple sweatpants, a purple and pink striped shirt, black jacket with pink lining and blue shoes.
Woodside is 6'1', 190 pounds with a shaved head, blue eyes and has a tattoo with symbols between his upper shoulders.
Anyone with information is asked to call 911 immediately. You can also call the Frankfort Police Dept at 502-875-8582 or visit http://www.kentuckyamberalert.com.

Car found in Amber Alert involving missing girl
Police say the car in an Amber Alert involving 2-year-old Breanna Woodside of Frankfort has been found in Chattanooga, Tenn.
The car was found at America's Best Value Inn and Suites off the Browns Ferry Road exit, according to news reports in Chattanooga.
Police have verified today that the car found is the 1997 silver Lincoln Town Car, stolen from Woodside's grandfather, Eugene Woodside, of Frankfort.
The vehicle was cold and had been parked at the hotel for a while, police said.
The hotel's manager, Jay Patel, said everyone who checked in to the hotel is accounted for and doesn't think Miles Thomas Woodside, 30, and his daughter ever checked in the hotel.
Patel told news reporters he had not seen Thomas Woodside or his daughter.
Police are still searching for the missing Frankfort toddler and her father, who has been charged with custodial interference and theft of a motor vehicle.
Breanna Woodside, 2, was last seen on Friday and her father was spotted several times over the weekend in Fort Payne, Ala., and possibly in Huntsville, according to Alabama newspapers and TV stations.
Monday morning, Thomas Woodside's mother, Mary Love, made an emotional plea in Fort Payne, Ala., for her son to surrender and bring her granddaughter to safety.
Love spoke alongside Fort Payne Police and other authorities. In tears, Love asked for her son to come home.
Love said she had not seen either her son or granddaughter during the ordeal.
Woodside had dinner with his daughter at McDonald's in Fort Payne on Friday night, according to news reports. Bobby Clements, a friend of Woodside, joined them. Clements and Woodside graduated from Fort Payne High School together in 1998.
Clements also was at the news conference Monday and said he gave his friend $40 to stay at the Econo Lodge in Fort Payne.
Clements said Woodside was upset, and said he was tired of working through the Kentucky court system to see his daughter.
Police said Woodside stayed at the Econo Lodge that night, but no one reported seeing the girl. Hotel workers say they didn't find any evidence of the girl being in the room.
Thomas Woodside was last seen driving a 1997 silver Lincoln Town Car with a Kentucky license plate 064BAA.
Woodside picked up his daughter early Friday morning at the police station in Frankfort. He was supposed to return her that same day, but did not.
The state of Alabama has issued an Amber Alert in the case as well as Kentucky.
Frankfort Police Maj. Fred Deaton said today, "We're still diligently pursuing all avenues of investigation. We had some information over the weekend that directed us to the state of Alabama.
"We contacted authorities there and it's been pursued. We're still pursuing every aspect."
Anyone with information should call 911 or the Frankfort Police Department at 875-8582.

Checking for updates. My prayers for this little girl.
Cab driver says man, missing child boarded Greyhound in Chattanooga
Chattanooga Police were interviewing a cab driver on Tuesday who said she drove to a bus stop a child and her father who are at the center of a multi-state Amber Alert.
The cab driver told police she dropped Miles Woodside and Breanna, 2, at a Greyhound bus stop in the Brainerd section of Chattanooga, police spokeswoman Sgt. Jerri Weary said. She saw them get on a bus but did not know what direction they were heading.
The bus station is several miles from a hotel where police found a car Tuesday morning that was part of the Amber Alert.

Police found a Lincoln Town Car in the parking lot of an America's Best Value Inn. Police in Tennessee searched the hotel but did not find Woodside or his 2-year-old daughter, Breanna, Frankfort police said at a press conference.
Investigators said Woodside took the Town Car and a handgun from his grandfather in Frankfort. Police said Woodside is armed and potentially suicidal.
Tennessee authorities issued an Amber Alert for the girl on Tuesday, a day after Alabama authorities did the same.
FBI agents in Frankfort are seeking warrants for Woodside's arrest on charges of unlawful flight from prosecution, Frankfort police said.
Woodside and Breanna were last seen together on Friday at a McDonald's in Fort Payne, Ala. Woodside was seen checking into a motel that night, but the girl was not spotted, Fort Payne police said.
Breanna, who has blonde hair and hazel eyes, was last seen wearing purple sweatpants with a purple and pink striped shirt, a black jacket with pink lining and blue shoes.

Father at center of three-state Amber Alert calls his mother to report he and daughter OK

FRANKFORT, Ky. -- The three-state search for a missing 2-year-old Kentucky girl took a new turn this afternoon when police said the girl's father called relatives today and indicated the pair were OK. Miles Woodside, 30, did not return his daughter to her mother Friday after a noncustodial visit. An Amber Alert was issued for Breanna Woodside in Kentucky, followed by alerts in Alabama and Tennessee.
Police said Woodside called his mother this morning.
"The conversation lasted about two minutes. He said he was fine and she was fine. He sounded very happy. His mother asked him to come home and he hung up on her," said DeKalb County, Ala., Chief Deputy Mike Edmondson.
Birmingham area police departments and sheriff's offices on Monday were notified to be on the lookout for the two, after the girl was seen on surveillance tapes at a McDonald's restaurant in Fort Payne.
A police spokeswoman in Chattanooga, Tenn., Jerri Weary, said officers discovered the car Woodside was driving at a motel there this morning, but did not find Woodside or his daughter.
Weary said Chattanooga investigators questioned a taxi driver who picked up Woodside and the girl and drove them to a bus station Saturday. She did not know whether the pair got on a bus. Police in Kentucky have said Woodside is armed and possibly dangerous due to "suicidal tendencies."
Breanna is blond, has hazel eyes and was last seen wearing purple sweat pants and a pink striped shirt under a black jacket.

Amber Alert ends: Father and daughter found

FORT PAYNE, AL (WAFF) - A Kentucky toddler was found with her father in Mexico late Tuesday afternoon, four days after the two disappeared after being spotted in Ft. Payne.
Police confirmed to WSFA 12 News' sister station in Huntsville that Tom Woodside, 30, and his 2-year-old daughter Breanna were found in Monterrey, Mexico. Authorities are transporting the two to Laredo, Texas.
Three states had issued Amber Alerts for Breanna Woodside, 2, and her father Thomas Woodside, 30, after Tom Woodside's car was found in Chattanooga, TN Tuesday morning.
Tennessee officials canceled their alert late Tuesday afternoon, saying they had received information indicating that the two had left the state.
Amber Alerts in both Kentucky and Alabama remained in effect.
The most recent pictures of Breanna and Tom Woodside came from security video from their stop at a McDonald's restaurant Friday in fort Payne.
As seen from the video, Tom Woodside comes in from the north entrance of McDonald's, holding Breanna tightly in his arms. He walks to the front of the store then moves to the back, almost looking directly into the camera.
In the video, Woodside looks very similar to the picture that's been broadcasted with the Amber Alerts, but Breanna has darker hair. Ft. Payne police said it's unclear what clothing they're wearing, but the child appeared to be healthy and in good condition.
The stolen vehicle police believe Tom Woodside was driving was found in a motel parking lot in Chattanooga. Breanna's car seat was removed from the car but the keys were left inside.
Investigators said they believed a cab driver took the two to a bus station in Chattanooga and they boarded a bus for Colorado.
"He was transported by a cab on Saturday from where the car was abandoned to a bus station in Chattanooga and made the statement that he was going to Colorado," said Ft. Payne Police Commissioner Ron Ogletree. "The investigation is ongoing."
Ft. Payne police also said Tom Woodside called his mother in Ft. Payne Tuesday morning. She told police Woodside didn't say where they are, but said Breanna was safe.

I wonder if the father thought if he could get to Mexico they would not force him to bring her back?
I am so thankful they both are safe.
