(WHAS11) – A few days ago, three children were missing in Kentuckiana.
One of those kids, Breanna Woodside, has been found and is on her way back to her family in Kentucky.
But two other boys, Trinidad Gonzalez Jr. and Rafael Gonzalez are still missing and have been for more than a year now.
Now, their mother is speaking out with the hope that her children might make it home safely like Breanna did.
Pictures are all Amanda Gonzalez has left of her two sons, Trinidad Gonzalez Jr. and Raphael Gonzalez.
They were taken by their father to Mexico, but never came back.
Both boys were reported missing on December 20th, 2007, joining the list of the hundreds of children still missing in the United States.
It’s a thought that continues to haunt Amanda everyday.
Amanda Gonzalez says, "I don't know if they're okay or if they're alive or..."
Despite the pain, she says news that another missing Kentuckiana child was recently found in Mexico gives her hope that someday she will find her own children.
Amanda Gonzalez says, "I worry about them everyday. I've been trying to do everything and anything I can do to try and find them."
After days of searching and with the help of local, state, national and international agencies, police were able to locate a missing Frankfort girl, 2-year-old Breanna Woodside in Monterey, Mexico.
Police say, like the two Gonzalez boys, she was abducted by her father.
The difference is an Amber Alert was never issued for these two boys.
It's the success of that alert that led to Breanna's safe recovery.
Sgt. David Jude says, "We couldn't do it without the public's help and that's what this Amber Alert system is for is to get us as much information, very quickly out to the public."
So now, Amanda is getting her story out to the public on her own.
She hopes that one day she'll be able to hold her two sons, instead of only holding pictures.
Trinidad was one-year-old and Rafael was just six months old when they were reported missing.
A few days ago, Amanda celebrated Trinidad’s 3rd birthday.
