Missing Maysville teen
MAYSVILLE - A 17-year-old girl who was reported missing on Sunday has been found. Police found Ann Marie White at 5 p.m. this afternoon at home of a friend, said Maysville Police Chief Cody Harper.
Harper said White had run away from home and was staying with friends. Earlier in the day, police arrested two people on drug charges and received information from them about where the girl was, Harper said.
Charges could be pending against the two people who were in the home where White was found, Harper said.
Initially, investigators had suspected foul play because White, who has a learning disability, left the home without medication that she takes daily. Harper said the investigation into White's disappearance continues.

It's so nice to read that some of these really do have a good ending. Thank you, Grande.

I think runaways need a good scare. They need to meet the families of kids who've runaway and met with a terrible ending. Or better still, meet runaways who end up "owned" by a pimp and put out on the street to earn their way. They need to know that there are things in life bigger than their preceived problems and that running away is a very immature and selfish act.
I had a friend whose 17 yr old ran away. She was missing for three days and was found thru an BOLO for her car. She was 100 miles away with a family they didn't know. I suggested the above. She needed the snot scared out of her for doing such a stupid thing.

I tend to agree with you. They have no idea what it's like to be out there alone.

What I don't get is how the other family could just take her in? When my kids were teens they didn't stay anywhere without me talking to the parents and the same for friends they wanted to have stay over

MAYSVILLE Two people have been arrested in connection with the disappearance of a Maysville teen who was found Wednesday and reunited with her family.
Ann Marie White, 17, was reported missing after her parents went to wake her for school and noticed she wasn't there.
Barbara Mack, 59, and her son, Jimmie Reed, 19, were arrested Wednesday afternoon after White was found in their Maysville home.
Both were arrested on complaints of harboring a runaway and obstruction of justice, Maysville Police Chief Cody Harper said.
Police had searched the home of Mack and Reed twice before they found White, Harper said. White, a special education student at Wayne High School, had been hiding behind a freezer in the home, Harper said.
Police learned White was in the home while arresting two other men who lived at the home on unrelated drug charges, Harper said.
"I just kind of talked to them, and they finally told me she had been at the home both times we searched, Harper said.
White was found uninjured in the home about 5 p.m. during the third search of the residence.
"This seems like a bizarre case to me, Harper said. "She's a special-needs student, she's real vulnerable and susceptible. I'm not sure why they were hiding her. We are investigating whether they threatened her.
"I was expecting the worst on this one, he said. "I was really hoping she did run way, then maybe we would find her, and we did.
