Jefferson County Sheriffs Deputies responded to a shots fired call in the 30 block of 3rd Street N.E. Graysville around 8:15 pm tonight.
Deputies found a woman shot at the location. According to Sheriff’s department PIO Randy Christian, the victim and her 8 year old walked about a block from their home to her parents home on 3rd stree. It’s believed the 16 year old then shot his mother on the front porch of her parent’s house.
The teen then fled on foot to a near-by trucking company and found a tractor trailer coal truck with the keys in it that he attempted to flee in from sheriff’s deputies.
Deputies chased the teen down and took him into custody without incident about a block away on 5th place in Graysville.
The victim whose name has not yet been released is reported to be 39 years old and pronounced dead at the scene.
Christian tells NBC 13HD news more information will be released when it becomes available.

What is wrong with children today?

How do they so easily kill their parent?

Not many details and I hope we learn why?

So tragic and sad when one of your own kills you.

"It's just a ... just a unbelievably sad and tragic situation... that you could have a 16 year old gun down his own mother and do it in front of his 8 year old little brother ." Sheriff's Office spokesman Randy Christian says in nearly 30 years he's never seen anything like what happened last night in Graysville. 16 year old Jamie Lee Wallace was arrested last night for killing his mother 39 year old Michelle Ann Wallace on the steps of her inlaws home. Christian says, "that's particularly violent... when you think that he could chase down his own family member firing shots along the way... kill her on the porch and turn the gun on his grandfather and attempt to kill him.

But the 16 year olds father Michael Wallace says his son is no monster... in fact he says his son was and is mentally ill, "my son has a mental issue ... he's been in and out of mental facilities here in the last several years." Michael Wallace says his son has what he calls explosive behavior disorder. Wallace, a trucker, was out of town last night but rushed back early this morning only to be met with how some on the internet are describing his son. He says sites are, "making him out to be some kind of frankenstein... and he's not... (sob) he's a loving kid .. I mean most parents would love to have a kid... but with Jamie there's issues with his mental stability and it just got out of control."

The teenager is being held on 5 charged including muders under a 138 thousand dollar bond.

This is what gets me. You know your child has mental instability, in and out of mental facilities, you see no improvement and you just let it go?

I've heard of that disorder but it's actually called Intermittent Explosive Disorder: Just like a temper tantrum!

Definition
Intermittent explosive disorder (IED) is a disorder characterized by impulsive acts of aggression, as contrasted with planned violent or aggressive acts. The aggressive episodes may take the form of "spells" or "attacks," with symptoms beginning minutes to hours before the actual acting-out. The Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, fourth edition, text revision (also known as DSM-IV-TR) is the basic reference work consulted by mental health professionals in determining the diagnosis of a mental disorder. DSM-IV-TR classifies IED under the general heading of "Impulse-Control Disorders Not Elsewhere Classified." Other names for IED include rage attacks, anger attacks, and episodic dyscontrol.

Description
Intermittent explosive disorder was originally described by the eminent French psychiatrist Esquirol as a "partial insanity" related to senseless impulsive acts. Esquirol termed this disorder monomanies instinctives, or instinctual monomanias. These apparently unmotivated acts were thought to result from instinctual or involuntary impulses, or from impulses related to ideological obsessions.

People with intermittent explosive disorder have a problem with controlling their temper. In addition, their violent behavior is out of proportion to the incident or event that triggered the outburst. Impulsive acts of aggression, however, are not unique to intermittent explosive disorder. Impulsive aggression can be present in many psychological and nonpsychological disorders. The diagnosis of intermittent explosive disorder (IED) is essentially a diagnosis of exclusion, which means that it is given only after other disorders have been ruled out as causes of impulsive aggression.

Patients diagnosed with IED usually feel a sense of arousal or tension before an outburst, and relief of tension after the aggressive act. Patients with IED believe that their aggressive behaviors are justified; however, they feel genuinely upset, regretful, remorseful, bewildered or embarrassed by their impulsive and aggressive behavior.
