Woman Was Last Heard From At 11 p.m. Monday
CHADRON – Dawes County Sheriff Karl Dailey is asking for assistance in locating a missing Torrington, Wyoming, woman.
Sheriff Dailey said that the Torrington Police Department notified him that 41-year-old Laura Schamel was last heard from at 11 p.m. last night. She had called her sister on her cell phone, but did mention that her phone battery was dying.
Her sister believes Schamel called from a little north of Henry, Nebraska, which is located in on the Nebraska side of the Wyoming state line in the extreme northwest corner of Scottsbluff County, approximately 10 to 15 miles southeast of Torrington.
Schamel is driving a silver Nissan Path Finder with Wyoming passenger plate 7-489D.
It’s unknown at this time what direction Schamel was traveling in.
Sheriff Dailey is asking anyone who may have had contact with the vehicle or Schamel to contact their local law enforcement or the Torrington Police Department at 307-532-7005.
