WASHINGTON COUNTY, MD - Police are looking for a runaway teen.


Investigators say 16-year-old Michael Matthews ran away from the Oak Hill House in Clear Spring on February 2nd.

He's described as being 5'3" tall and weighs 135 pounds.

Police say he has "Mike" tattooed on his right forearm and "2400" on his right wrist.

Matthews used to live in Baltimore.

Police are looking for a 16-year-old male who has been missing from the Oak Hill House on Independence Road in Clear Spring since Feb. 2.
The last known address for Michael B. Matthews was 400 Seagull Ave., Baltimore, the Washington County Sheriff’s Department said in a news release.
Matthews is black, about 5 feet, 3 inches tall and weighs 135 pounds, police said. He has a tattoo that says “Mike” on his right forearm and one that says “2400” on his right wrist, police said.
Anyone with information about Matthews may contact Sgt. Roy Harsh at the sheriff’s department at 301-791-3020.

Still Missing, Active And Ongoing Case

I spoke to the detective from the Washington County Sheriff's Department, who was familiar with this case. He informed me that Michael Matthews 16, Msg 02/02/09, Clear Spring MD is still listed as missing, and that this is an active and ongoing case.

This afternoon I spoke to an officer from the Washington county Sheriff's department . He informed me that Michael Matthews 16, Msg 02/02/09, Clear Spring MD was apprehended on 4/5/09 in Baltimore city under an alias . When his real identity was revealed he was placed in a juvenile detention facility . The Sheriff's office close the case out on 5/1/09 .
