15 year old Felicia Becker went missing Friday, and West Brookfield police believe she is with a 34 year-old Springfield man with a criminal past.
"It's been scary. I don't sleep. I go into scary places in Springfield knocking on doors. I'm just wicked scared," says Felicia's mother, Laura Calkins, fighting back tears.
Calkins' 15 year old daughter is missing, and the man that might have her, 34 year old Jimmy Perkins has a criminal history.
"I'm petrified. I'm scared to death," Calkins says.
It started on Friday. Felicia Becker, a Ware High schooler, was out with friends, getting ready to celebrate her birthday. She called her mom, asking if she could stay out later/
"She's like 'oh, I just want to stay out just a little later. It's Friday, it's Friday.' I finally gave in, told her, 'you got one hour and I'll be by at 9 o'clock.'"
That was the last time, she'd hear her daughter's voice.
An hour passed and mom, Laura, went to pick Felicia up, but there was no sign of the girl. She called police and sources led them to Jimmy Perkins.
"I don't even know who this person is," Calkins says.
Police haven't determined how, or if, Perkins and Becker knew each other before Friday. However, West Brookfield police say they do know Perkins has a troubling past.
"Mr. Perkins does have a criminal past that is concerning to us. A 34 year old male with a 15 year old female is definitely a concern," says West Brookfield Police Sgt. Charles Laperle.
Days go by and the only form of communication have been text messages
"I got a real strange one back," Calkins says. It read: "I'm just staying out, wanting to have some fun. I'm celebrating my birthday."
"We actually don't know if it's Felicia sending those text messages. It seems like it's more of a buying time," Laperle says.
Time is of the essence. Felicia's birthday is Tuesday, and all her family wants is the chance to spend it with her.
"Please come home and if you're watching, call us so we know you're safe," says sister Chelsea.
West Brookfield police are looking at the areas of White street and Bay street in Springfield. Those are just some of the addresses traced to Jimmy Perkins.
Police are very concerned, because no identifiable communication has been made. They just want to hear her voice or see her face, knowing that she's safe.
If you have any information leading to the whereabouts of Felicia Becker or Jimmy Perkins call West Brookfield Police at 508-867-1170.
