PALM BEACH GARDENS — The dismembered body of a 39-year-old Palm Beach Gardens man who has been missing since early January was found last night in at least one plastic bin in a wooded area of western Palm Beach County, according to a source close to the investigation.
Robert Andrew Harrison was reported missing by his family after his roommate said he saw him drive away from his mobile home off Hood Road with an unknown woman and his bank and cell phone activity ceased. Harrison inherited a large sum of money shortly before his disappearance, Palm Beach Gardens police said last month.
(http://www.palmbeachpost.com/localnews/content/local_news/epaper/2009/04/07/0407pbgbody.html#) But last night a person led investigators to a wooded area near Pratt-Whitney Road and the Beeline Highway, where they found at least one plastic bin containing parts of Harrison's body, according to the source.
Our news partners at CBS 12 report that Palm Beach Gardens police have arrested 39-year-old Daniel Lee Alexander in connection with Harrison's death.
Alexander was booked into the county jail by Gardens police just after midnight and is charged with homicide, according to jail records.
Harrison, who was from New Jersey, has been in Palm County about a decade. He was not married and had no children, and no family in South Florida. Last month, his sister in New Jersey said the family became concerned when he failed to answer calls. She said he recently inherited about $40,000.
The roommate told police that Harrison, who used to work at TooJay's Gourmet Deli in the Bluffs Shopping Center in Jupiter, packed his personal belongings and told him he was moving to Pompano Beach.

A Palm Beach Gardens man is behind bars, charged in connection with the grizzly killing of a missing man.
Police arrested 39 year-old Daniel Lee Alexander and booked him into the Palm Beach County Jail early Tuesday morning, charging him with homicide.
Authorities have connected Alexander to the disappearance and killing of 39 year-old Robert Harrison, according to a sargeant with the Palm Beach Gardens Police Department.
Harrison's body was found dismembered and shoved into a plastic bin, which was found in a wooded area near Pratt-Whitney Road and the Beeline Highway, according to our newspartners over at the Palm Beach Post. Investigators were led there on Monday night.
Harrison was reported missing in mid-January after his family hadn't heard from him in about a week. Harrison's roommate said he last saw Harrison drive away in a dark-colored sport utility vehicle with a woman, but hadn't seen him since.
Harrison had inherited a large amount of money right before he went missing, police said in March.

Gardens man's body dismembered, parts dumped in NW Palm Beach County
Victim's brother is "perplexed' at horrifying details

PALM BEACH GARDENS-- It's a story that resembles a mob murder movie, but it's real life in Palm Beach County.
A missing Palm Beach Gardens man is found dead after his body was dismembered and dumped in a rural area.
39-year-old Daniel Alexander is accused of killing his roommate Robert Harrison, also 39, back in January.
Authorities claim Alexander hit Harrison with a frying pan, stabbed him to death and then cut up his body placing the parts in plastic containers topped off with cement.
The body parts were found near the Beeline Highway and Seminole Pratt Whitney road in northwest Palm Beach County.
Police say the brutal murder started as a fight between the two roommates in Alexander's mobile home on Hood Road in Palm Beach Gardens.
Harrison's younger brother, 35 year old Chris Harrison, doesn't know what to make of it all.
"It just perplexes me that a human being could do this another human being. I don't understand it, I really can't wrap my brain around it," said Harrison during a phone interview from New Jersey.
Harrison's brother says the victim had recently gotten a $40,000 inheritance. He believes that may have sparked the altercation since Robert Harrison was temporarily living in Alexander's trailer.
"My brother had come into some money from a beneficiary of an account. I am sure that led to different words about my brother paying the bills or that he was staying on the couch and maybe this guy didn't like it," said Harrison.
He said Harrison told him he planned to move out of the trailer they shared together soon.
Police tracked down Harrison Monday night. He appeared in court Tuesday morning where a judge ordered him behind bars on no bond.
