CENTERVILLE — A Pennsylvania mother has made a desperate plea for help in finding her 17-year-old runaway daughter who apparently spent some time Tuesday evening, March 24, in a residence in the 9600 block of Centerville Creek Lane.
Valerie Laurence of York, Pa., said her daughter Kasey Leisenring is in the company of her 20-year-old boyfriend, a man Laurence said has multiple past convictions for statutory rape.
"She says she's in love with him," Laurence said. "They've been telling people they're trying to hitchhike out to California where she has relatives. But we don't have any family in California. This man has done this to other girls before."
Sgt. Shawn Baab of the Montgomery County Sheriff's office confirmed that deputies were dispatched to look for the missing girl at an address on Centerville Creek Lane at about 8:30 p.m. Tuesday.
Baab said when officers arrived, a resident of the address told them that the couple had been there earlier but had left to continue their trip to California.
Laurence said her daughter hasn't been seen since she failed to show up for school on March 17. She said she contacted York police who put out an alert for other departments to be on the lookout for the girl.
Laurence said she got information on Tuesday from a former girlfriend of the man who her daughter is traveling with. The former girlfriend said she had been in situation similar to Kasey Leisenring, and she was able to supply Laurence with the phone number of a relative of the boyfriend.
Through the relative, Laurence said she got a tip that the couple might be staying with a person in the Centerville area that they had befriended through MySpace.
She contacted the Centerville friend, got an address and notified police in the area. The couple was gone by the time police arrived to check, however.
Laurence said people she's talked to who have had contact with her daughter say Leisenring has been complaining of sickness and has been vomiting. Laurence fears the girl may be pregnant, and she also said Leisenring left Pennsylvania without completing antibiotic treatments for a recent case of streph throat.
Leisenring is described as 5 foot and 110 pounds. She has long brown hair that could be colored red. She has an eyebrow piercing above her right eye.
Anyone with information on her whereabouts should contact their local police department.
