STAUNTON — A Stuarts Draft man who pleaded guilty in September to 98 charges in connection with producing child pornography with a 3-year-old relative and a 15-year-old Connecticut girl most likely will spend the rest of his life in prison after being sentenced today in Augusta County Circuit Court.
Virginia sentencing guidelines recommend that Scott E. Forrester, 39, be sentenced anywhere from 66 to 134 years on 13 counts of producing child porn, 17 counts of distributing child porn, a single count of taking indecent liberties with a child and 67 counts of possession of child porn.
Forrester faces the possibility of a 1,150-year prison sentence. Circuit Judge Victor V. Ludwig, who has the option of going above or below the recommended guidelines, will preside over Forrester's sentencing hearing.
County authorities raided Forrester's home at Shenandoah Valley Estates on December Drive in April after the Bedford County Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) task force was tipped off by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children concerning Internet activity involving Forrester.
According to Augusta County prosecutor Rupen Shah, Augusta County Sheriff's investigators confiscated two computers, dozens of DVDs and CDs, cameras and thousands of pornographic images. A pair of children's underwear, sippy cups, blankets, clothing and a Barbie doll — all of which appeared in the confiscated images — also were seized.
So much evidence was presented at Forrester's September hearing that it took 17 minutes to enter the items into the record, a task that usually takes just seconds. According to Shah, Forrester drove a 3-year-old girl to Connecticut on two occasions and filmed her engaging in sexual activity with the 15-year-old girl.
Forrester is being held at Middle River Regional Jail in Verona.
