This is not looking good! I pray Cynthia is safe.

The drive from Tracy, CA to Stockton is about 20 miles.

And Tracy is where Sandra Cantu went missing.

STOCKTON - A 15-year-old girl was arrested Saturday after duping her parents into believing she had been kidnapped.

The girl's parents reported to police that she was on her way home Friday night around 7:30 p.m. but never arrived. The next morning the girl's mother received several text messages from her daughter saying she had been abducted in an alleyway and taken to a place she did not recognize.

Police said the girl also called her grandmother and said her kidnappers were going to hurt her before her cell phone was abruptly cut off in the middle of the call.

A detective was assigned to find the girl, and police sent out announcements of the kidnapping with the girl's picture.

But the girl was found a short while later with a friend at Pacific and Alpine avenues. Both were interviewed by police, who determined the kidnapping was fake.

The girl was arrested on suspicion of making a false report of an emergency and giving a false identity to a peace officer.
