Navarro County toddler reported missing
Authorities issue advisory for 18 month old child, suspect
From Staff Reports

Jose Andres Martinez, 22, is being sought by police and sheriff’s officials in reference to a missing 18-month-old girl, Jasliene Morales, who was reported missing by her mother.

The mother was dropped off at 5 p.m. Monday at work by Martinez, her boyfriend, who was going to keep the toddler overnight, but he never came back, according to Navarro County Sheriff’s Chief Deputy Mike Cox.

Martinez drives a 1998 red Ford Expedition 4x4 with New Mexico license plate number HNJ 769.

Anyone with knowledge about Martinez’ whereabouts is urged to contact the Navarro County Sheriff’s Office (903) 654-3001, or the nearest police department.

“He was last seen with the child about 5 a.m. in Corsicana,” Cox said.

By WFAA.com Staff Reports

The Navarro County Sheriff's Office is searching for an 18-month-old girl after she was reported missing by her mother.
Sandra Espinoza told authorities she last saw her daughter, Jasliene Morales, at 5 p.m. Monday, which was when her boyfriend dropped her off at work.
Driving a red 1998 Ford Expedition 4x4, 22-year-old Jose Andres Martinez was last seen with the child at 5 a.m. in Corsicana, authorities said. The license plate for the Ford is HNJ 769.
No detailed description has been released yet for the missing child or the boyfriend.
Since Martinez served as a babysitter for Morales in the past, the missing case does not meet the guidelines for an Amber Alert.
Anyone with information on the missing child is asked to contact the Navarro County Sheriff's Office at (903) 654-3001.

Even if he was a babysitter in the past, it should still qualify for an AA IMO.

Corsicana man suspected of kidnapping toddler found dead

The 22-year-old Corsicana man suspected of kidnapping his girlfriend’s toddler-aged daughter was found dead just before noon today, and officials have ruled his death a suicide.
Eighteen-month-old Jasilene Morales was found in a rural area on the 3500 block of Oak Valley Road in Corsicana locked inside the parked Ford Expedition belonging to her mother’s boyfriend, Jose Andres Martinez.
Officers broke one of the window’s vehicles to free Jasilene from the hot vehicle. She was taken to Navarro Regional Hospital as a precaution, but Navarro County sheriff’s officials say she appeared unharmed.
Martinez’ body was found near the vehicle. A justice of the peace determined that he had killed himself.
Jasilene was reported missing Monday by her mother, Sandra Espinoza, after Martinez dropped Espinoza off at work.
No other details were immediately available. The case is still under investigation.

Thank God she was found safe, but he could have dropped her off somewhere, instead of leaving her in the hot car.

I wonder why he took her in the first place? Thank God he didn't also kill her.
