Mannequin Stolen From Washington Police Car
Friday, January 11, 2008

LACEY, Wash. — Sure, Trevor was a dummy, but police want him back — and whoever stole the uniformed mannequin from a patrol car could face felony charges.

Trevor, outfitted with sunglasses and a uniform, routinely sat in a Lacey police car for a couple of hours at a time as a reminder to motorists to slow at key places in this town north of the state capital of Olympia. On Friday, police said, the driver's side window was broken and Trevor was nowhere to be found.

The car was out of service this week while the window was being repaired, police Cmdr. John Suessman said.

Disabling an emergency vehicle is a felony, Suessman noted.

I don't think you have to been a member of CSI to figure out this was either a teen or a drunk.

To be honest, I am sure it was a group of teens because I could see myself as a teen doing it. I mean..just too ripe. You could bring your own cop to parties...the ideas are limitless...I just hope they didn't do too much damage to the car. I also hope the cops will have a bit of humor if it was just a prank. Kids do stupid things. I was a stupid kid.

this reminds me, i saw last night on the news, 3 food pantry delivery vans had their windows broken out the nite before. so these vans were out of commission & people that depended on that food elderly, shut-ins, little kids etc, went hungry yesterday. the vans are clearly marked & this isn't the first time this has happened. would you chalk that up as a "stupid teenage prank" too? because i see it as a shame that someone has kids who were never taught morals or respect for others & i hope when they catch them, they are prosecuted as fully as possible.
