COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- A 13-year-old Colorado Springs teen is missing, and now police are asking for your help in finding him.
Joseph "Joey" Patrick Kormanik has been missing for over a day. He was last seen at his parents house in the 7800 block of Curlew Court Saturday.
Joey is described as a black male, five feet seven inches tall, weighing 120 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a santa Broncos hat, a gray and red ski jacket, a gray stripped shirt and jeans.
His mother told FOX 21 news Joey suffers from emerging bi-polar disorder among other things.
"We have checked everywhere in the local area, restaurants and grocery stores and everywhere we think he might have been," Joey's mother Sara Kormanik said.
Kormanik is worried sick about her son Joseph. She said she has not seen him since he left Saturday afternoon and did not return home
Kormanik said it is scary to think he could have possibly been out in the weather all night.
"I know he was dressed warmly but I hope he would have sought shelter somewhere, but we just do not know, and it was so cold and windy and snowy and we are just very very worried," Kormanik said.
She said Joey has been off his medication for a day now which may cause him to become disoriented.
"He has different cognitive issues, and he does not think things through like someone his age might, he is very impulsive," Kormanik said.
Despite his medical conditions, Kormanik said Joey should not be considered a threat. She said right now her family is praying for his safe return.
"We love him very much and we want him to come home," Kormanik said.
The Colorado Springs Police Department has issued a reverse 9-1-1 call around Joey's home in the hopes someone will spot him. If you have seen Joseph Kormanik or know of his whereabouts you are asked to call police at 444-7000.
