OMAHA, Neb. -- A man found dead Sunday in Elkhorn was supposed to stand trial Monday on domestic abuse charges.

Brian Carson, 45, was due in court as a result of a December incident that sent his wife, Teresa Carson, to a hospital. According to court records, Teresa told investigators the two were fighting over the "fact that he had been sleeping with his son's girlfriend." The girlfriend is 19-year-old Nicole Walker, one of the suspects in the slaying. The son is Ryan Carson, who's charged with second-degree murder in his father's death

Police spokesman Jacob Bettin confirmed that Ryan and Walker were once in a long-term relationship.

Jeffrey Hill, 22, was arrested and charged with accessory to a felony.

The domestic abuse charges stem from a December incident

Nicole Walker is one of eight people charged in connection to the death of Brian Carson, whose body was found in the trunk of a car in April.

Investigators said Walker was romantically involved with both the victim and his son.

She pleaded guilty to charges of being an accessory to a felony.

Walker will be sentenced in January.

Elkhorn Slaying Suspect Gets 40-45 Years In Prison
Ryan King Says He Didn't Participate In Slaying

February 16, 2010

A man convicted for his involvement in the death of his friend's dad in Elkhorn was sentenced Tuesday to 40 to 45 years in prison.

Ryan King told investigators he was at the scene but didn't participate when Brian Carson was beaten to death last April.

King initially faced a first-degree murder charge but had that reduced to criminal conspiracy. He pleaded guilty.

King will have 328 days of credit added to his sentence.

King's father told KETV NewsWatch 7 that the sentence was too severe.

Brian Carson's body was found in the trunk of a car abandoned in an Elkhorn field. Prosecutors said the victim's son planned and carried out the slaying after he found out about his dad's affair with his girlfriend.
