VICTORVILLE • Sheriff’s officials are searching for an elderly woman who went missing Tuesday afternoon and they’re asking for the public’s help in locating her.

Bertha Gonzalez, 81, was last seen at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday near her home in the 13000 block of Spelman Drive, according to San Bernardino County Sheriff’s officials. She was wearing red pants, a red and black shirt and brown slippers.

Officials say Gonzalez has short brown hair and eyes, is 4’4 and weighs 200 lbs.

According to Gonzalez’ family, she takes medication for a number of health reasons. None of Gonzalez’ medication appeared to have been taken with her, officials said.

Officials said other family members may have picked up Gonzalez without notification. Deputies and family hadn’t made contact with any other family members as of 5 p.m. Tuesday.

Officials from the Victorville Police Station ask the public to notify the station with any information they have related to the missing woman’s whereabouts. Persons with information may also call Deputy Cameron Pratt at 241-2911 or 1-800-78-CRIME.

Surely if other family members had picked her up then they'd have taken her medication with them. I hope.

Praying she is found soon and safe.

So sad but now we know she is not Bertha. I hope Bertha's family members can finally get in touch with those they couldn't find and maybe find that she is with some of them.
