It's my favorite show and I especially like the followup shows. The addicts look so much better even while at rehab, but I love the true success stories.

Did anyone watch Intervention last night? The addicts came from a large minsiters family, where the mother had left when the yongest two were like 5 & 7, it was a sister and brother.
Anyhow the brother grew up to be an acoholic and meth user and the sister followed in his footsteps. They had like four other brothers and sisters, dad and mother that lived out of state, most of them were in denial.
They set up for the intervention on the brother first, the yonger sister just thought she was there for support, then after he agreed to go...they got her and she went too, but to a different rehab.
All said and done the brother did good for a short time after rehab, but had stated back drinking. The sister was still clean at the end of the show.
What hits me is how good they look after such a short time in rehab. These two looked like different people.
I love that show!

Did anyone watch the episode last night?
The girl they featured, Tressa, was a crack addict. For some reason she didn't seem to be a hard addict and I don't even know why I say that. She seemed to have the support of her family, meaning they let her work on their farm for money.
In high school and college she was a shot putt record holder and was training to go to the Olympics when she tested positive for cocaine.

I tune in, but, since am often not looking at the screen, it took awhile for me to learn to do so toward the end of the show to read about their success, if they stay clean. :)

I DVR these and watch them with my teen daughter...to show her the realities of what could happen. It also helps remind me of how bad things can get....I'm recovering and it helps to keep me humble.

I watched the new show with "Chad" as a crack user. He used to be on an upper scale biking race. He trained with Lance Armstrong and poked his finger in Lance's belly and called him DoughBoy. He was asked to leave the practice. He went from somebody to nobody. Fast.
I didn't think this guy would make it. he walked out on the intervention and the case worker went out and talked to him and he decided he'd try sobriety. At the end of the show, I expected to see that he got kicked out for misbehaving but he blossomed in recovery. He cut his hair, took a shower, put some weight on, and some clean cloths and he turned out a winner. He was truthfully happy to be living a sober life. This was one good show for the opener!

Yeah Chad ended up to be a pretty good guy. I hated how he used people when he was using though. Like that poor woman that he smoked with, he clearly only used her for her place and drugs.

Another success story last night, his name was Charles, c-h-a-r-l-e-s.
Man he was a hard case to crack; he was a homeless herion addict, who pan handled for money. His shot up about 8 times a day (that's ALOT)!
Poor guy was molested by his father as a small child and his mother was an acoholic. He was raised by his grand parents.
After detox and rehab he looked like an entirely different person and he, for the the first time in a long time, could actually feel "happy".

I saw the reairing of this episode on Monday night. I was like you, believing with his attitude he'd be getting kicked out of rehad. I was so happy at how he turned it all around!! When he read the letter to his mother and father, it was so heart wrenching. I bawled like a baby!!
It reminded me, these people are wonderful, they are just addicted and gosh I hope people don't give up on loved ones or friends.

Saw this episode also. Have you ever seen anyone that wants to be loved like Charles? He was so down on himself and when he saw his brother, he was so happy. He kept telling him he loved him and when his sister read her statement to him at he intervention, he kept saying " I understand, I understand". He just thought, it's ok, I'm not worth it.
I was so angry at his brother but after thinking about the episode, I think Leif is withdrawing because he has not dealt with the abuse and he is very angry and in denial. He had to step back for his own sanity, like if he was forced to deal with things, he would snap. I am very disappointed that he didn't go see his brother in rehab and just he sister showed up. Charles deserved some hugs and encouragement from his whole family I thought.
I hope he succeeds, he is a special person, with a huge heart.

I loved Charles (like crazy), when he was on the streets using he looked about 40, then when he cleaned up he looked 20 and so cute! I wanted to reach thru the tv and give him huge hug.
I agree with you about his brother Leif (who looked like Baby Hogan), still fighting his own battles with his awful childhood and abuse. But maybe that is what he had to do for himself. He needs rehab just as bad as Charles.
What about the mom? Did she look like she had a rough life or what? She looked older than her own mom. Plus the lip ring piercing, tear drop tattoo was just too much for me to look at.
I pray that Charles continues on with his new clean life. Kudo's to Ken, it was a great intervention.:francis:

I have watched this show before, several times actually. It's difficult for me. My son is about to go through drug court. It took several arrests and the final one by ME for stealing from me; he's been in jail almost 60 days, starts drug court this month but will probably miss the birth of his daughter. It's very heartbreaking and as hard as it is to say, maybe it will take this to get him clean.
His DOC is lortabs. He told me the other day he doesn't even remember getting arrested. He was on like 10 tabs; he told me he just couldn't get high anymore. My heart is broken. I guess this is one reason it's hard for me to watch.
I do occasionally watch this show though and it is a difficult thing to do (intervention). I remember one in particular, he was an addict but was from a wonderful rock band (no longer together and I can't, for the life of me remember their name) threw his life down the toilet.

Sorry to hear about your son..that is hard to deal with. I've had addiction in my family also. Is he ready to quit now? Maybe his daughter will give him reason to. That's what happened with one of my family members - her daughter turned her around. (knock on wood).
The Intervention you are taking about was one of the member's of Three Dog Night. But since him and his wife were addicts they're poor son didn't stand much of a chance.
What I love about Intervention is the after story, how they are doing after rehab and the followup stories.

TeeOne, He SAYS he's done with it so here's hopin'!
The Intervention I was talking about was Episode 6, Season 1 "Travis and Matt". Travis had that band Days Of The New and he's a meth addict. According to Wikipedia
"Days of the New performed their hit single "Touch Peel, and Stand" live on Late night with David Letterman in 1998.
Travis performed "The End" on Vh1 Storytellers: The Doors.
In April 2005, Meeks was showcased in an episode of A&E's hit tv show Intervention [2], that was filmed in February 2005. Meeks' addiction to methamphetamines was one of the two subjects for this episode. Meeks decided to go to rehab at Cirque Lodge in Provo, Utah, but the episode ends with Meeks checking out early after 73 days. After a period of relapsing, he remained sober since September 19th, 2005 until a brief relapse in September 2007. According to a follow-up interview with Intervention [3], Meeks has since remained sober."
Im glad he's sober. He has a wonderful voice. I loved that band.

I felt so bad for Sal, her 17 yr old son. Apparently she had neglected him since about age 11. I sure hope he can work out his feelings regarding his mother because that's the type of young man we've seen on Intervention. No decent family life really screws people up.

It's Intervention night folks!
1st episode is a repeat: Cristy ( I find this one hard to watch, want to give her a shake! )
2nd episode is NEW!! : Tom ( Description from A & E )
Growing up in a South Boston neighborhood run by the Irish mob, Tom got caught up in the gangster lifestyle. By his 20s, he was dealing drugs and running with the wise guys while holding down his day job as a fireman at the Boston Fire Department. Throughout it all, Tom remained a dedicated and loving father to his four children. Eventually, Tom's other life caught up with him after being indicted on drug charges. He lost everything -- his house, his job, and his family's respect. Can an intervention help Tom and heal his fractured family?

Yes I saw the show with Cristy and I thought, "Wow - what a pretty girl and what a mess she's in." There was no update on her, she went to jail in lieu of rehab and after she got released she used again.

Well I got through half the episodes. lol Fell asleep during Cristy's intervention. I was hoping for an update that she had stopped using, but I guess she is still at it, even after jail she went back. I really think she has more issues than addiction, I mean mentally. Maybe if those issues can be addressed, she might be more positive about addressing her addictions. Sad case!
I woke up for a minute during Tom's show. His wife was giving it to him for getting bottles instead of cans of pop. She seemed kind of nasty, but it might have just been that part of the show she was acting like that. How did it end for Tom?

After 3 months in rehab. he looked better; had gained weight. He's been sober since Jan 08 and wants to become a counselor himself. Jayne has not gone forward with divorce proceedings yet.

yeah, I thought Tom looked and seemed great! I think he is very serious about living the rest of his life without drugs. I thought he looked older than 49, but after rehab he just looked good. I have a friend that use to be an H addict and he became a counselor (they make the best counselors)!

I watched the last show with Asa, the guy who binged and purged and was a horrible alcoholic. He blamed his dad a lot for his problems. He said he didn't get told he was loved enough when younger. and when he would go back for seconds at dinner time his father would question him. He was heavy growing up and at 14 he learned how to throw up. And drinking just came naturally afterwards. I was impressed with the intervention when Asa came out and told his father everything that bothered him. His dad cried and told him how much he loved him and that he didn't realize how his complaining about how much Asa ate hurt him so. Asa's friend came to the intervention too. And laid the laws out for him. I think this was good for Asa, it showed how much he was loved by his family and he went into rehab. He stayed the whole 3 months then went into sober living afterwards. His story was sucessful. I wish more people on intervention would stay clean.

yeah Tee,
Asa was on monday night. where's your tv? they used to call him Gaysa in school. He's a gay male about 24 or so. so his looks are important to him. And so is his weight. what was different about this episode? was after Asa got done eating, the cameras followed him in to the bathroom and you got to see him purge. Not once, but several times. It was kinda gross unless you like puke. And he would get so drunk he couldn't walk. He'd drink everyday. It was an interesting intervention.

Anyone watch Intervention last night? I watched the first one but fell asleep during the last intervention of the second show!!!!!!!!!! :groan:
I was happy to see Dillon (think that was his name, his Mom's name was Tammy) was sober since August 2007 and living with his grandparents. He had such a promising future until the drugs. I was wondering if he was on medication now though. That kid must have listened to his abusive father, just by the things he was saying to his Mom. Saying things to her and than saying like Dad said, or something like that. I really felt bad for his Mom, she just wanted the best for him.

It was heartbreaking guys.... It was a repeat about Charles, the victim of sexual abuse by his father who was homeless. His grand parents took him and his brother in. Anyway sad story, he is back using and on the streets of Florida. He is such a sweet guy. You know, for all he was through he says that the 0-7 years were horrible, but 7 and up, whne he went to grandparents were the very best anyone could ask for. I pray for Charles, I was so upset after reading he was again homeless and using, I couldn't sleep. He has so much hope. That's the most heartbreaking thing about dealing with addicts. How do you get through to them, that they have a future ahead of them, that they are special and worthy of happiness.
Sometimes this show is too hard to watch. :1187603408.CR.Mothe

YVW Alibar. I watch this show faithfully. When they first aired the episode, Charles future seemed so promising. It shocked me I guess to hear he had slid back into the drugs. Again his brother's response surprises me. Too me, Leif needs therapy as well. I can understand him protecting himself from the situation in order to deal with the abuse they both received.
One good thing from this story, father received 16 years in prison for the abuse. At the very least that was 16 years society and future victims were protected from this monster.

Didn't I go and fall asleep last night RIGHT at the intervention?
Anyone know what happened with the alcohol/sex addict???? :022:
SPOILER ALERT!!!
The new epi was good. It was about an alcoholic/sex addict mother of four. She married a drug dealer at a young age, had two sons and lived the life of a rock star. He got arrested and sent to prison for four years. While he was in she met someone else, married him and had two more kids.
The problem was she wasn't use to a 'normal' lifestyle. She started drinking heavily. CPS came out and told the husband if he wanted to keep the kids, he would have to divorce her, if she couldn't get sober. At this point, she looked about 65 and I'm thinking she was in her early 50's.
He divorced her and had full custody of the four kids. Meanwhile her drinking escalated. Her family provided her with living arrangements, where she drank 24/7, falling on the ground, passing out in her bathing suit, with this wildazz hair. And had a boyfriend who looked to be 100.
She was one of those women that had to have a man in her life to enable her drinking. She had become like a child looking for daddy's approval. Oh and I forgot to mention she was molested by an elderly man when she was around 6. That seems to be a common suffering with many addicts.
When they finally got her into the Intervention she was really fuming mad and felt betrayed by everyone that loved her. She had a huge family and there were about 10 ppl at the Intervention. After awhile and hearing the heart breaking stories, she agreed to go.
After two months at rehab, she looked like a different person and really nice looking. Come to find out she was a very talented artist, which worked into her recovery.
She went back home and moved in with her x husband and kids. She has been sober since August 2008.

Their home is going to be foreclosed on. My friend and their kids will have no place to live, and this jerk is $192.00 in the hole with his creditors so WHERE does he find the money to purchase booze? Then he gave some lady $200.00 of his last amount of money to 'fix her car.' and he didn't even know her NAME!! :madranting94dp:

I swear to you, T, that this man's problems BELONG on this tv show!! He 'lent' her $200 bucks and now, come to find out, she stole his DVD, and KEYS TO HIS APARTMENT!!
How do i know? Well, this ex..........EX, heroin addict, (her words to this man's daughter, yeah, EX, BALONEY) called their daughter up and started preaching about how the daughter should be there for her father and blah blah blah, and then she goes and steals from him.
The sad thing is on this show, you see loved ones who are willing to come together and help the person. This man's side is all suffering from their own problems that nobody would be there for him and his kids are tired of this whole mess. Can you blame them? :z0tdntknw:

Okay so this girl, Casie (25) was a famous hair dresser for Paul Mitchell, the limelight made her nervous. She also had a desire to stay thin. She was right out of beauty school. So another stylist turned her on to coke and she was addicted instantly.
When she was small, her father was an acoholic and her parents divorced when she was three. She has big abandoment issues. Also at that time her mother was a cocaine addict.
Mom got sober long ago, remarried. Casie would never accept her stepfather and refused to be adopted by him.
Present Day. Casie does clients out of a shop or at home. She has a huge habit and uses before and after breakfast, plus during the day. She will also do anything she can cop. She is also bulimic. She likes meth becuz it keeps her thin :duh:
She has an addict boyfriend that drives 70 miles to see her and does all the work around her house. It bothers him that Casie has 'dates' with other men (to make ends meet).
Mother also enables her as far as helping her with her bills and trying to keep her out of trouble. All the while Casie is alittle (b)itch to everyone.
Anyhow, she went to rehab for 3 weeks,as did her boyfriend and they quit at the same time. They moved in together, but then brokeup.
They claim that she has been clean since Dec 2008, but on TWoP a poster on there says he was in rehab with her and she isn't clean, but the mom did disassociate with her after she and hubby got treatment at Betty Ford.
When she worked for Paul Mitchell she was a beautiful girl, but now she is ugly. She has those dead eyes.....scary.

His mother was a waste of space. She was the one that stood by when he was abused by his father and his stepdad. No wonder he was on a mission to kill himself.
Good news, he went to rehab and completed treatment, but he still looked severly depressed. I hope he stayed in Florida because there was nothing or no one in Michigan worth moving back for. I have never known anyone that distraught or motivated to die.

Anyway his name is Charles. For some reason, his story touched me.
That's who I was thinking of, only I got the name wrong. It was a good one.
Last night was reruns, I'd seen both of them before. Wonder why they didn't have a new epi for us....

I was wondering the same thing Tee. They were really old episodes last night too, 2006 I think. Some they seem to air often, the ones last night were on a few times each. Maybe because they were successes I guess. :z0tdntknw:
When I went to the website, I looked at the 6th season to see if I had seen them all. I missed some this winter, but I am thinking all they have listed, have aired.
Tee, any episodes or people that you remember more than others?

Sylvia and the guy that collected the tree bark - Coley.
Then the girl that was a teacher...her name escapes me. And the guy that had the tanning salons and actually died a couple weeks after his epi aired. To name afew.
I wasn't wild about either of the chosen epi's last night.
Oh and then the 'huffer' girl with the cats, she was wild. But cleaned up good.
Oh and I can't forget, was it Hubert? The drunk that lived in the park, but his family stilll "loved him like crazy"? He was an audience favorite.
Some of these people were on the reunion/sucess show, did you see that?
If I looke thru the shows on the web, I'd probably come up with a ton more. I'm addicted to the show. lol

I remember all of those episodes! I'm so addicted too. I can still see Sylvia downing those little bottles like nothing, she did great though, bless her heart, she is so cute and charming.
Hubert was a sweetheart too, I really liked him.
Lawrence was a hard story to watch, he did alot for his family, raised his 2 younger brothers if I remember right. He was in absolute denial about his addictions. So sad.
I wonder about alot of the people I have seen, Antwan, Christy, and of course Charles. Wish we had a way of getting updated about how they are doing.

Oh mcgoo, I love you:zm10:
Antwan lost so much, I wonder what ever happened to him. I know he got back with the addict girlfriend, but I wonder if somehow he got help after that.
Christy was a mess - she was unable to go anywhere. What would you do if your child was like that?
I hope they are gonna have some new ones and I should look closely at the website to see if I can find that out.
We should both contact Dr. Drew and see if we can go for treatment as a pair.:happy0158:

Awe, thank you, love you too from one Intervention addict to another! :zm10:
There were almost glimpses of Antwan realizing what he was losing when it showed him with his daughter. Remember he said to his wife, something about see you again, maybe or something like that, when he was leaving. Addicts say those things so much, I guess to make the person feel bad for them, or to manipulate them.
And Christy, she was a train wreck! I wonder about her, if she was ever able to get out of her life style. She seemed completely in another world. Remember her room at her grandparents! She completely trashed it, glass, trash, clothes, you name it, thrown everywhere! I think she has a mental illness besides, not sure what, but something is not right there.
Listen to us, we need our own intervention show!! Dr Tee and Me? lol :0t31:

Hi macoo, it was a rerun anyhow. But, afterward there was a good show on about oxycodein/heroin addiction (sp?).
It was Angelia, where the addict (cute blond) lived with her mother and she said her mom also did drugs, her mom was a coke addict years prior. When she did her drug she looked like she might fall asleep with a cig in her mouth ? And, I think her drug was heroin. After rehab she was very pretty.

The epi on last night was so sad. It was about two spoiled brothers that were hooked on heroin. They lived with their parents and sold drugs out of the house to support their $600 a day habit.
Their parents were in denial about the dangers to their sons and the possibility of them losing their house if there was a drug bust.
These two brothers were in a continuous la-la land, smoking heroin about 4 times a day, sleeping and running to the driveway when addicts came by to buy drugs.
In the end, they both went to rehab, but only one brother was doing ok after a relapse. The other brother continued his life of drug addict, but now living with another drug addict.

I wish I would have.
I can't blame the wars solely, as I know a lot that had the issue before they even joined.
Once they get back they really need a strong support group. Luckily, it's been passed that seeking counseling or psych help will no longer go against you. There is still a stigma against getting ot asking for help but hopefully with this change, that too will change.
One of the guys hubby deployed with last year, took his life with an OD of Oxycodiene. He left a pregnant girlfriend and lots of bills behind.

I remember being shocked when so many of the Viet Nam vets came home with problems with alcohol and weed. My youngest brother was in Viet Nam. He would tell me stories of drinking, etc that went on. He hung out with a lot of vets afterward, and addiction was a common problem. They seemed to hold on to good jobs, but binge every weekend. It took a long time for some of them to get their lives together....and some never really pulled out of it.

My brother's two best friends joined the Marines on the buddy plan. They were never together after basci traning and they died within a week of each other once in Nam.
Then I had other friends that got out of going at all (by various means). Also some friends that came back and like you said, were never the same.
Seems like by now, there would be an exit test to determine what kind of help they need.
Roenick
09-15-2009, 02:26 PM
They have a 30, 60, 90 test that they go through now. There are also reintegration programs for soldiers and families to go to.
It doesn't catch them all, but it also comes down to honesty while taking the tests and exams.
Now, I'm only talking about on a Guard level but I believe it is throughout all the branches as well.

I agree. Given the cost of wars, it seems proper care for those we send to those wars would be but a drop in the bucket. I don't think anyone would object to putting more funds into vet care. PTS is very common, and is manifested in several forms.

I felt more sorry for his wife and family also. She deserved better. They really couldn't do anymore than they were doing. They gave him unconditional love and hung in there longer than most would have in my opinion. It freaked me out when he was swinging those swords around. He even hit the camera with one!
I found it strange in the end that isn't home yet? Seems like a very long time away from home. He went to treatment in July and isn't going to be home until spring! I wonder if that isn't more his bipolar than the drugs.

Well McGoo, maybe he's smart enough to know that he needs to stay longer. I always hate it when they stay for six weeks and then go home to relapse. I'm sure his family is happy he's where he is, and at the same time they have the freedom to be normal.
It's like when an addict goes into treatment, the family doesn't have to worry that this may be the day or night that the addict gets in a wreck or dies of an overdose at home. Living with an addict, is a 24/7 nightmare.
I'm looking forward to a follow-up on him and his family.

I think 6 weeks is too quick also. I hope you are right, that he knows he needs a longer stay. I know here, a friend of ours went to the treatment center and they tried to send him home after only 1 week. He had been drinking for approximately 10 years straight, with no break. He told them, that is way to soon and actually had to insist a few times before they allowed him to stay, but only for one week extra. I thought that was horrible given he had to go through withdrawal and was in no condition to be home alone. :frown: ( He has since relapsed for a few days, but is back on the wagon and attending daily meetings.)

It is weird that I saw this post tonight because yesterday I sent in my best friend's story to them. I am at my wits end with her. She was a good girl growing up. Never in trouble, straight A's and then when she had kids decided to start church every waking moment was spent with her children. Now she goes out every night and drinks, takes pain killers CONSTANTLY and doesnt associate with anyone who won't condone what she is doing. This past week I told her I would take her daughters while she goes to rehab because she used the excuse she wouldnt go cause she had nothing to do with her daughters and she didnt want them taken from her. Well she didnt like that idea so now I have to give her the ultimatum of go to rehab or I call Children and Youth I have no choice that isnt fair to those kids. I dont wanna do it and it will break my heart but what choice do I have? She works for her father and he does random drug tests on her but she already knows how to beat those tests but drinking plenty of cranberry juice. She has already had a date rape drug put in her drink and was almost raped the other night (2 seperate occasions) I just dont know anymore.

You're in a bad place, but you are doing all you can I think. I think you have to give her a time frame. Like last chance, decide by the end of the day or I call Children and Youth services. Maybe stress that the children will be safe with you. Is her family helping you or are you doing this on your own? I take it that her family has tried with her if they are randomly drug testing her.
You are a good friend and this is probably one of the hardest things in your life you will do. She has to look ahead to the very near future she has, she either loses her children and perhaps die, leaving them forever. Or she gets help and is there for her children forever and starts a good life where she isn't consumed 24/7with getting drugs.

Thank you Tee...he is doing good so far. Been sober 2 1/2 months since he relapsed. I am a true believer, more than ever, that anyone can get sober after he has. He was almost dead when he decided to quit. Drs said he wouldn't last much longer if he continued drinking.

I didn't mean to make you cry, I know you probably have done that enough. Dealing with an addict is anything but easy. I know from my brother. It is an all consuming fear and worry for that person.
I can understand how her mother feels. Some have to do that to survive themselves. She may have thought that her daughter might come around also by her doing the tough love thing. You do need some support yourself though. You need someone who you can talk too also. It's alot for you to take on alone. Maybe someone else will have better ideas here also.
From watching intervention and what I have dealt with myself, you need to put out the ultimatum and stick with it. That is very very hard. I wish I could help you more. If you want..pm me anytime.

Linda and Danielle? Refresth my memory, I'm not good with names, just stories. I've probably seen all of the episodes......
Linda is the woman who had Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome addicted to Fentanyl. Episode 100, first of season 8.
Danielle's episode was 95, Season 7. She was the married mother of two and addicted to Percocet.
I was reading the boards at A&E and there was someone posting who claimed to be Linda. Very odd posts... It seems that she has a lot more going on than chemical dependency, IMO.
Danielle's father really gave me the creeps. There was just something about him and the way he interacted with Danielle that just didn't sit well with me ~ I can't really put my finger on it, he just did..... I thought Danielle's husband was just awesome! So kind and dedicated. I should be so lucky, Lol.

:love0085:
It was more tears of happiness that someone actually understands. I have support my family understands and I am hoping when I finally get ahold of her father he will understand also.

Sara, I do remember both women. Danielle was just on last week. Nice to see her look so great after treatment, what a change. Like she came back from the dead.
Sorry to hear about Bret, as I didn't know that he had passed. I knew about Christopher. There was also Lawrence (epi 59) that passed and I think he was the first to pass after his show aired.
Projectangeleyes, Good luck helping your friend get help. I have tried by myself to get help for someone and it never seemed to work for me. There is power in numbers and I'm hoping that you can get someone in her family to assist you. What about her x husband? Bottom line you might have to call CPS, that might be her wakeup call.

Her Xhusband may help but its doubtful he has kinda washed his hands of it also.

Well in that case, the fact that you are taking it upon yourself says alot about you!
You are a really good friend, and I wish you all the luck in the world;)

Well Thank you feels good to know someone thinks that. It's definitely rough. I told her on the phone the other day that it is pretty bad when your best friend panics when you don't answer the phone because she assumes the worst, that you are dead. She said I know I'm sorry. Then I didn't hear from her for 2 days she didn't return my phone calls or anything. Luckily her mother had talked to her (because my friend called asking her for money) so I knew atleast she was some what ok. Or alive I guess. I finally got ahold of her today and she said "Sorry Jess I have been busy." I said "Kim that is bull, you are not too busy to talk to Amy (her friend that enables her and drinks and does pills with her) and you are not too busy to go drinking but you are too busy to call me back just so I know you are alive." It is very frustrating. And she wanted money from her mother for a dress for her work Christmas Party yet she has money to buy pills.
I was diagnosed yesterday with Narcolepsy and I wanted to talk to my best friend about it (Kim) I wanted her to be there for me like she used to be and all she could ask about it was "Did they give you an upper?" "What kind of meds did they give you?" Then when I told her they gave me Nuvigil but I wasn't happy with them (they had been given to me for the last month while they were doing tests) because of side effects and the fact they sometimes don't work at all she says "Well ask them for aderall did you know people sell them for a lot of money?" Like seriously?!?!? I don't care if they are a million dollars a pill! I would NEVER sell my meds and I want a medication that is best for me I am not taking them to get high for God's sake. What is wrong with her?!?!

She will avoid you because you are not giving her sympathy or helping her get her pills, plus she is ashamed of herself.
Sorry to hear about your illness...I am not familiar with Narcolepsy but looked it up. Sounds like you need to be very careful! :yes2:

Thank you, yes she is avoiding me and has for the last couple years. It's bad when I got to my best friends house to see her and I have to hide any medicine's no matter what they are in a lock box in my van along with my money (she has never stolen money from me but people who visit her house and her brother has). Ya know somedays I am so tired and frustrated I ask myself why I even try or why I even care when she doesn't. It's so hard.
