Search under way for missing Vancouver girl

THE ASSOCIATED PRESS

VANCOUVER, Wash. -- Dozens of volunteers, police and Clark County searchers are looking for a missing 16-year-old Vancouver girl.

Police spokeswoman Kim Kapp says they are concerned because the girl has Asperger's syndrome, a form of autism.

Kapp says Carisa E. Tuck talked by phone with her mother about 2 p.m. Wednesday but did not return home. It's abnormal for her to be out all night.

Kapp says searchers are handing out fliers in the girl's neighborhood. Portland police also have been notified to watch for her.

Tuck is 5-4, 100 pounds with red hair and blue eyes. She was last seen wearing blue jeans, a pink jacket and red leather slip-on shoes.
