PAGE – The search for Robert Prescott of St. Petersburg, Fla. at Lake Powell is ebbing as the Department of Public Safety returned to their regular duties last weekend.
Prescott has been missing since April 25 when the boat he was on undertook water and sank during a windstorm. After the boat he had rented from Wahweap was reported overdue, the National Park Service, Kane and San Juan County Sheriff Offices, and Utah State Parks began using boats, fixed-wing aircraft, and a helicopter in a concentrated search for three couples believed to be in their 50s and 60s.
Survivors James and Heather Brady of St. Pete Beach, Fla. were discovered and rescued by a ranger at Padre Butte. They were treated for hypothermia and released with no further known injuries. The body of Katherine Prescott from St. Petersburg, Fla. was found along the shoreline following the Brady’s rescue.
