Missing Sandy man may be in danger

Sandy police are searching for a man who disappeared Wednesday afternoon.
Jason Matthews, 30, dropped off his daughter at his mother-in-law's home around 5 p.m. and has not been seen since.
His wife later found a note left by Matthews, saying he was despondent and going away. She fears he may intend to hurt himself.
Matthews is described as 6-feet-2 inches tall, about 200 pounds, with short blond hair, a goatee and blue eyes.
If anyone has information as to his whereabouts, call Sandy police at 801-568-7200.

A man reported missing in Sandy has been found safe.
Jason Matthews, 30, was reported missing by his wife about 9 p.m. Wednesday after she found a note saying he was despondent and going away, said Sandy Police Sgt. Justin Chapman. The man was last seen about 5 p.m.
His wife found him in the Salt Lake City area about 4 a.m., and he explained his absence by saying he had gone for a walk to think, Chapman said.
"This isn't typical behavior for him but there's nothing to suggest anything suspicious," he said.
