"Snipped"
The Manatee County Sheriff's office is searching for Joshua K. Hutchings, 19, who was last seen at the Ellenton Ice and Sports Complex about 11 p.m. Saturday.
His mother, Valerie Thomas, told deputies that Hutchings is mentally challenged and trusting of strangers. He is about 5 feet, 9 inches tall, white, medium build and usually wears a ball cap.
Hutchings left his house unbeknownst to his mother Saturday night and took a taxi to the skating center. An employee there saw him alone around 11 p.m. He sent a text message to a friend at 6:30 a.m. Sunday saying he was in Orlando.
His mother told deputies that he has no real circle of friends, reports show. She also said he is home-schooled and doesn't have money or a car.
Deputies urge anyone with information to call the Sheriff's Office at 747-3011.

Authorities locate Manatee man reported missing

By ROBERT NAPPER - rnapper@bradenton.com

MANATEE — A mentally challenged man reported missing by his mother Sunday has been found, according to a Manatee County Sheriff’s Office report.
Sheriff’s deputies found Joshua K. Hutchings, 28, walking along Lakewood Ranch Boulevard several hours after his mother reported him missing from their home in the 400 block of 136th Court East. Hutchings was found in good health and returned to his home.
Hutchings’ mother reported him missing at 9:45 a.m. Sunday, after she found he had left home undetected sometime Saturday night. Using cell phone records deputies found that Hutchings had called a taxi and went to the Ellenton ice skating complex.

An employee at the complex saw Hutchings Saturday night, but he could not be located until Sunday because he turned off his cell phone which had a GPS device in it, the sheriff’s report said.
