I don't have a 48 car, I will have to see if I can find one.. or make one. This is what I do have... I also have some #8, but I don't think anyone is gonna want that one now... I have a #31 and a few others I think.

Died in a wool die hard Bobby Labonte fan, 18/ 43. Hope he proves himself for the King next year.
Ran a red and blue number 43 car in an endero 200 lap Race and placed third at Hagerstown Maryland.
What a blast, talk about getting out all your aggression towards other drivers on the highway in a controlled environment.
We set up the horn button as the electronic down shift from third to second gear, really neat, coming out of the fourth turn and not having to lift, just dropping down in the second gear and launching passed all of the G. body Chevrolet Monte Carlo’s with a 1968 four door Buick Electra 225

Sounds like a road trip to me! You and I may become Buds afterall! Back in the day, I had a '65 Must'n-Touch, running a 302, (blew three 289's) down shifted from 4th to 3rd, touchy 'lil boitch she was, hit 1st instead of 3rd, I swear we went head over hills! Still have that dang ol' Ford, becept the rear gears are shot to he!!. Got me a '90 5.0 GT tho, hubby don't let me take her too far! And I sit and wonder why? hee-hee

Got the wife a 2003 Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS, Red, Black Leather, the only thing you didn’t come with was Dale Earnhardt Junior. Two more months and the warranty is up with the last payment. Only has 16,000 miles, time to change the chip. Garage kept
But my pride and joy is a 1968 F. 100 on a F. 250 frame with a built 4 barrel, 390 cubic, frame off restoration , primer paint sleeper . Shiny pain don't make it go faster .

Amen, I'm not a particular Michael Waltrip fan, I tend to root for the guys who came out of open wheel series, but I'd kind of like to see Michael get to celebrate a Daytona 500. Goodness knows I never rooted for Dale but I do miss him. It was so much fun teasing the Earnhardt fans, and they took it in good humor, and gave as good as they got. I miss the way Nascar was before it got too corporate and everyone started worrying too much about what the sponsors would think. I wonder if Dale, King Richard or many of the old timers would make it in the modern era. They were honest, said what they thought, and were willing to settle it in the pits if they thought they were wronged on the track. I must be getting old but I do miss the good old days.

I was so different years ago janicelee.. I grew up around racing, my brother.. several nephews, my ex.. he was a top dirt track and ASA driver.. my in-laws live right next door to the Petty's and are good friends. We will never see those days again with all of Corporate America getting into the game.
I was told that NASCAR was going to lighten up on what the driver's say and do in the pit/garage areas now.. but you will never see the way driver's used to get so fired up.. before, it used to be a way of life.. a love, an obsession.. now to many of them it's a job.. it's pressure to be in the top 35 and if you are out race after race you are out of racing and looking for another job.

Agreed, that's why I tend to follow the dirt track racers. World Of Outlaws, USAC, Saturday night dirt track racers. I saw Tony Stewart, Jeff Gordon and company on midwestern dirt tracks before they were famous. I remember going to Indy Car races where the night before the race you could run into the drivers at the local bar, and they'd be happy to talk to you. I don't mean to be critiical of the NASCAR drivers of today, they are incredible athletes but I do miss the fun of the old days.

The spirit still lives on in local tracks, every weekend. Last year I took one of my nephews to a local race track and after the racing ended took him into the pits. The drivers were amazing. Every one of them had time to talk to my nephew sign autographs, and several of them even let my nephew sit in their race cars. Admittedly most of these guys will never be on national television, and will never be known to anyone except those of us who frequent the local track but they are and will remain heroes to my nephew and to me.

Isn't that the truth, Lawrenceburg Speedway, just across the state line in Indiana, is my local track. Alot of big names have passed throught there over the years, but the the cars are mostly sponsored by the neighborhood bar, and the local NAPA. It is as good as racing gets and still affordable enought for me to take my nieces and nephews and make a night of it.

I personally do not believe it is so much SMOKE, for goodness sakes, he has been racing longer than Kurt. Watch it again. What happened on the track was an "accident", what happend on the pit was not an "accident". Too bad Kurt is giving Kyle a "bad name"... All I gotta say is...

I saw that forecast. It doesn't look promising. We may end with two races tomorrow. One thing for sure, if they do race then they need to battle for top ten positions before they hit that halfway mark. If it gets rained out after that, it's set.
