She has only been missing for a short time, Anna. I read so many different threads that night that I can't recall her name or who started the thread. I think her husband says (maybe via MySpace) that she ran away, possibly with another man.

Would someone explain the different ways that member names are displayed? I know that red = super mod, but some users are listed in green italics, some are in black, some have a + after the name. What do the different name displays mean? :shrug1: Thanks. :biggrin:

If you are friends with members, you will see a plus sign beside THEIR name.
Names in pink/red are mods and administration.

It's one of the options when you set up your profile. I realize that posting on a message board isn't "real" talking, but it's kind of nice to know if the person I'm talking to is around. :0t31:

Go to "User Control Panel (CP) - just click on your own name at the top of the page if you don't know how to find it. Under "Your Control Panel" click "Customize Profile." This will allow you to change the colors. I know that some people have really snazzy pages but I haven't checked into how to do it.

I want to change the background image on my profile. It says I have to use an image already in my album. I have one image in my album and don't see any way to add more or to change the one that is there. (I put it there long ago, but don't remember how)

I also want to know how to use the my album feature on the profile page, but one thing at a time.

To add pix go to user cp.. scroll down to pictures & album, click...you can then either add a new albumn.. or click on the picture that you have showing.. if you click on the pix it will open up that album.. you can then either upload more pix.. edit or delete pix. When done, click on the pix you want to use... it will give you some codes just like photo bucket.. use the http:// code.. then go to customize profile and place this code where it says 'background image'. Don't forget to click on save when you are done.

Can anyone tell me how to play "Gems Hexic Revisited"? I'm in 2nd place and don't have a clue how I got there.

There are little stars on some pieces, spades/hearts/diamonds/clubs on some - and the suit changes, pieces flash. I get messages saying "Good move!" but don't know what I did or how to replicate it.

I like the game, just wish I could figure out how to play it. Right now I'm just spinning the pieces around until something happens. :groan:

At the left side at the bottom of the green box, you will see upload photo. That might be what you are talking about. It's hard to see until you "mouse over". It was for me, anyway.

What I do is search google for "wallpaper" If I want a Fall look as I have now, I search for "Fall Wallpaper". Halloween Wallpaper- etc- thise pics are bigger and prettier IMO

Amused...go to CP...go to signature....you can add a picture there, save it...then click on add signature and it will automatically appear in your siggy line...

If you're reading the thread that you like , and you what to return to it, you can click on thread tools. Then you click on subscribe to this thread . It is like a favorites folder . You can open multiple folders.

To access your subscribed threads , you click on quick links , three up from the bottom in the miscellaneous category you will find subscribed threads .

The navigation bar at the top of each page has several helpful links. One of them is a dropdown menu called Quick Links. (It appears only to registered members who are logged in). Clicking it once with the mouse will make it drop down and show the following options:

* Miscellaneous
o Private Messages (manage your private messages, read your inbox, create new messages, etc)
o Subscribed Threads (get an overview of your free subscriptions and options to manage them)
o Your Profile (loads your social profile)
o Who's Online (see which users who are currently online on the board and what they are doing)

Not me Packy. I remember back when on the Court TV boards that I would get subscribed to threads without wanting to be. i might subscribe to a few threads here that i have a hard time finding. The search mode doesnt work for me all of the time.

I've had trouble with the search mode once in awhile too. I know what you mean. I constantly skim threads and when I see some that look like we've had them before I try the search to check so it can be merged. And sometimes it doesn't work out.

Okay, new issue. After I started the thread subscriptions, the normal thread list (not in my thread subscription list, I don't think) .. the threads that I haven't read used to be bold .. now none are bold and i know I haven't read them all. And also .. even before I started the thread subscription thing started, the threads that I HAVE read are 2 different colors. What do ya think?

eta: for instance when I click on missing adults. No threads are bold.

Right now this is what we have. I agree, it could be both.

I've noticed that same occurrence of views not being counted when you revisit a thread. My thought was our view of any thread is only counted once. I don't think that is an error.

My curiosity is about the guest views, whether or not their views are part of the count.

Definitely both A2L. This thread got about 1000 views a day for about a week awhile back, almost all from guests.

It's fine if you let it go to 20,000.. new pages don't have to be started for a thread. It just makes it easier for the missing forums if they have a lot of information to find what you need. Especially if it's a case that ends up going to trial.

I don't know anything about what you need but I know anything about this Dell Computer or Laptop has to be bought from Dell.

Dell Inspiron (?) It's Jamies. I think 1525 but he has left now and I'm not sure. He got into such a tizzy because I had not ordered SOMETHING, I did. I showed him one for 12.99. Then it said free shipping (Amazon) if you ordered $12.01 more, so I just ordered 2. So, if it's wrong, he has two of them. Of course it's on my debit card. ;(
But he did let me use his computer a lot and I was using it when it stopped working. Right where the cord bends you can see little tiny wires. I read several post about that happening. And it was from Dell.

Billie - I use FireFox and just love it. Go up in the area with "File," "Edit." "History." .... "Help" etc. Click over on the right side of that area and make sure that both Navigation Toolbar and "Bookmarks toolbar" are checked. Good luck - for me, the biggest advantage over IE is FireFox doesn't crash anywhere near as IE (VERY rarely.) I just like the entire browser better.

I've never used AVG -- can someone tell me if the free version actually protects against problems and can remove infected files or just identifies them?
