I think it was his intention to sell her, but I believe he accidentally killed her. IMO

Just think how many girls have been spirited away by people like him.

I agree. He was going to sell her and something terrible happened and she died! I hate that Beth and Dave may never know what really happened to their daughter. So tragic.
