HUMMUS

3-5 tablespoons lemon juice (depending on taste)
1 1/2 tablespoons tahini - (I substitute mayo, makes it creamier)

PREPARATION:
Drain chickpeas and set aside liquid from can. Combine remaining ingredients in blender or food processor. Add 1/4 cup of liquid from chickpeas. Blend for 3-5 minutes on low until thoroughly mixed and smooth.

Place in serving bowl, and create a shallow well in the center of the hummus.

Add a small amount (1-2 tablespoons) of olive oil in the well. Garnish with parsley (optional).

I don't know how to make it but we bought some Margaretta dip that you add to cream cheese. It is so wonderfully delish!!

Well I know how to mix it but I meant I don't know what's the the sauce part. It's tart yet spicy.
I forget the company but will look. They had a ton of flavors.. strawberry, mango spice, sweet&sour, cranberry, ect. But the Margaretta was the best!

My family loves this. I usually brown a lb. of hamburger and onions and dump it in when cheese is melted. It really makes a meal this way.

PARMESAN & ARTICHOKE HEARTS DIP

1 c. mayonnaise
1 c. Parmesan cheese
1/2 c. green onions, finely chopped
1 (14 oz.) can artichoke hearts, drained & diced
Dash of garlic powder
Crackers or bread rounds
Combine all ingredients and spoon into 1-quart casserole. Bake at 350 degrees about 20 minutes or until bubbly. Serve with crackers. Makes about 2 1/2 cups.

This is super easy and really tasty! I personally go a little light on the onions (1/8-1/4 cup) and use sourdough bread and pita for dipping. It's great for the chilly (and chili) weekends!

Can I order about a gallon? I L-O-V-E guacamole!

Did you know that, in a pinch you can mash up an avocado and stir in some chunky salsa and have a reasonably edible guacamole?

This gave me "bad" memories. Only because I don't like liver though.
My mom makes very goodliver pate and mede it for all the holiday gatherings.
I don't like liver but she would wake me every holiday to do the taste test.

What a way to start a happy holiday. :serious:

This is really a salad dressing recipe, but I also use it as a dip for veggies:

Barn Door Garlic Dressing (Barn Door is a restaurant here in San Antonio)

4 eggs
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon dry mustard
4 cups oil (BD uses vegetable oil)
4 hard boiled eggs minced (optional ... I don't use them)
4 garlic cloves, minced
5 sprigs flat leaf parsley
4 green onions with tops, chopped
3 stalks celery, chopped (with leaves)
1/2 cup lemon juice
freshly ground black pepper to taste

Beat eggs on low speed in a blender. STOP. Add salt and mustard. While the blender is running add oil VERY SLOWLY in a steady stream through the feed. STOP. Add lemon juice and the remaining ingredients. BLEND thoroughly. Place mixture in a container (that has a tight fitting lid) and add minced hard boiled eggs (if using). Refrigerate at least 2 hours. Add black pepper after it is chilled. Taste and add more salt if you wish/or more lemon juice. Improves with age/more garlicky! Makes about 1 quart

My brother in law who is a fireman got this recipe from his chief and brought it to our Christmas dinner. It is wonderful!!! Sounds like a strange combination, but I guarantee you will love it.

1 pgk lemon Jello
1 8 oz. pkg cream cheese
1 small can tomato sauce
1 cup mayonnaise
1/2 cup chopped green onions (include tops)
1/2 cup chopped celery
1/2 cup chopped reg. onions

In a boiler over medium heat, heat cream cheese, tomato sauce, mayonnaise, and Jello until the cream cheese is melted. Stir in onions and celery.

You can chill this and it will get thick, but I prefer to serve it warm with crackers.

Yummy!

I make this dip quite a bit. Note that you can also put the Rotel and cheese in a microwave dish and cook it in the microwave. Just remember to stir it occasional until the cheese is melted.

Also, try adding a can of chili to it before cooking. Yum!

Tried this one yesterday and loved it. I did not use lime juice because I forgot to buy but had lemon and added that. This was delish on those new Town House cracker that are cracker on one side and pretzel on the other side. I bought the Cheddar Cheese flavor and the combo with the dip was to die for! Spinach Dip

1 can Ro*Tel and green chilies
1 medium onion- chopped
1 8 oz. pkg. cream cheese
2 cups Monterey Jack cheese
1 cup half and half
1 10 oz. pkg. chopped spinach thawed and drained
2 Tbsp. oil
1 1/2 Tbsp. red wine vinegar
paprika

Cook jalapenos and onion in oil until soft around four minutes. Add Ro*Tel and cook 2 minutes. Mix all ingredients in large bowl. Pour into baking dish, sprinkle paprika. Bake at 375 for about 25 minutes or until bubbly.
