St. Charles County man accused of killing his ex-wife just hours after divorce
A St. Charles County man is accused of killing his ex-wife just hours after the two were in court for a divorce proceeding.
Aaron LaRose has been charged with first degree murder and armed criminal action in connection to the killing of Jill LaRose.
According to a probable cause statement, LaRose's body was found in a rural farm field about six tenths of a mile east of Highway 79 in St. Charles County.
An autopsy revealed that LaRose had died after being stabbed in the neck three times. It also appeared a rope had been tied around her neck. The rope was found at the scene by deputies with blood on it.
Both Jill LaRose and Aaron LaRose had taken part in a divorce proceeding on June 24th in St. Charles County Circuit Court before she disappeared.
The last person to speak with Jill LaRose was her sister. The sister told police that she was called around 1:20 p.m. and that the conversation ended with the sound of Jill LaRose gasping and the sound if buttons being pushed.
Police said that prior to her death, Aaron LaRose had left numerous voice mail messages on his ex-wife's phone that included a message in which he said that marriage means "til' death do us part." He also indicated he had no idea what he had planned for her.
Aaron LaRose told police that immediately after court he went to the Taco Bell in Byrnes Mill, Missouri and then to nearby Rockbridge Park where he claimed to be meditating for a long period of time.
An investigation revealed he did not go to Taco Bell and a park employee told authorities LaRose was only there for about 30 minutes.
After securing a search warrant, detectives obtained LaRose's DNA with swabs and said it matched it to blood stains found at the scene. They said blood found on Aaron LaRose's shoe also contained her blood.
LaRose is in jail under one million dollars bond.
