Joe Jackson, told ABC News in an interview that he believed "foul play" was involved in his son's death.

Meanwhile, Joe Jackson told ABC that he and his wife, Katherine, should have custody of Michael's three children. "They'll grow up to be strong Jacksons," he said.

He said Michael's daughter, Paris, who spoke at the Tuesday memorial service, was taking the death hard and was crying whenever Michael's name is mentioned. He said that she (Paris) might have a future in the entertainment business along with the youngest son, nicknamed Blanket, who "can really dance."

Joe Jackson suspects "foul play" may have been involved in the sudden death of his son, Michael Jackson, he told ABC News in an exclusive interview.

In fact, the 79-year-old Jackson family patriarch was dumbfounded when he learned his 50-year-old son was being rushed to the hospital after collapsing at home on June 25, he told ABC News in an exclusive interview at the Jackson family compound in Encino, Calif.

"I just couldn't believe what was happening to Michael," he said.

"I do believe it was foul play," Jackson added. "I do believe that. Yes."

The Jackson patriarch's claim comes as Los Angeles Police Chief William Bratton suggested that the singer's death could be treated as a homicide if autopsy reports indicate that Jackson had been given illicit amounts of powerful prescription drugs.

"We are still awaiting corroboration from the coroner's office as to cause of death. That is going to be very dependent on the toxicology reports that are due to come back," Los Angeles Police Chief William Bratton told CNN. "And based on those, we will have an idea of what it is we are dealing [with]: are we dealing with a homicide or are we dealing with accidental overdose?"

Police have launched an investigation into Michael Jackson's death following reports that the singer might have died from a drug overdose. Jackson's rented home in the exclusive Holmby Hills area of Los Angeles is now being treated as a possible crime scene, with two vehicles towed away for examination and the room where he collapsed sealed off for forensic examination.

Speculation is mounting in the US that Jackson stopped breathing and suffered a heart attack after taking an injection of a morphine-based painkilling drug.

According to one unconfirmed report, members of Jackson's entourage told hospital staff that he had taken the drug Demerol, a commercial name for pethidine.

The Sun newspaper quoted a source as saying: "Shortly after taking the Demerol he started to experience slow shallow breathing. His breathing gradually got slower and slower until it stopped."

Law enforcement sources tell TMZ the central target in both the coroner and LAPD investigations into Michael Jackson's death is Dr. Conrad Murray, who was at Jackson's house when the singer went into full cardiac arrest.

Sources say the doctor is not cooperating with authorities, but they have still found evidence linking him to the drug that may have killed Jackson. As we first reported, as a result of Dr. Murray's second interview with police two weeks ago today, the LAPD obtained a warrant to conduct a second search of Jackson's home -- and that's when they found Propofol, a powerful anesthesia that should never be used outside a hospital. There is evidence Propofol was administered to Jackson shortly before his heart stopped beating.

And we're told there is evidence Dr. Murray may have administered the drug. Dr. Murray's lawyer, Ed Chernoff, told TMZ he would neither confirm nor deny if Dr. Murray administered Propofol to Jackson. Law enforcement sources tell us if they conclude the doctor administered the drug it may well lead to manslaughter charges.

Investigators are also suspicious of the delay in calling 911 -- the Dr. says he waited 20 - 30 minutes because he didn't know Jackson's address that would lead paramedics to the house. Jackson lived on one of the most famous streets in the world -- one house above Sunset Blvd.

As the investigation into Jackson's death heats up, there's also an investigation into his life with drugs and the doctor's who fueled it. Sources tell us law enforcement is seriously investigating the prescription practices of several doctors who gave Jackson access to medications. Investigators are particularly interested in doctors who used aliases to write scripts for Jackson. One of the central figures in the investigation -- Dr. Arnold Klein.

Sounds like Joe Jackson has his eye on Blanket to be another Michael. I hope Katherine Jackson quickly puts the kibosh to any plans he has in that direction.

I don't think Joe Jackson will have anything to do with the upbringing of Michael's children, it may just be his "wishful thinking"..

He was purposely left out of Michael's will, so that does say much...IMO.

I also thought Joe Jackson and Katherine were separated and live in separate homes. I'm sure Katherine is well aware of Michael's feelings and thoughts about having JJ around those children..

<<<<snipped article for purpose>>>>>

Michael's father Joe Jackson was not named as a custodian of the children, but is married to Katherine and will therefore become a de facto guardian. Jackson regularly said in interviews that his father Joe had abused him as a child. Joe and Katherine remain married but are believed to be separated, with Joe spending much of his time living in Las Vegas. http://abcnews.go.com/Entertainment/MichaelJackson/story?id=7977737&page=1

Mrs. Jackson needs to file for divorce immediately to remove any doubt that this abuser will not be in the same home with those children. I would imagine they have been handled with kid gloves and would not be able to survive a violent person after losing their daddy.

I liked MJ. I was a 70's and 80's kid, who didn't like him. I remember when our entire block gathered at my house for the debut of "THRILLER" I have not followed him through all the scandal, I've just enjoyed his music. We don't have TV, or Radio where I live... well, we can't get it. Anyway, I internet watched his beautiful daughter collapse into the hands of her Auntie in tears. Poor little ones!

Why do they call the littlest boy "Blanket?" Sorry if that is a stupid question. Like I said, we don't have TV, or radio....

Thanks
D

Michael named his two sons Prince Michael I and Prince Michael II..

In one of the home videos where he is playing chess with the older Prince Michael, he affectionately called him "applehead"...I believe he called the second son blanket because he was a "blanket of love"...

Why did Michael Jackson named his kid blanket?
Officially his son's name is Prince Michael Jackson II. He nicknamed him blanket because "he is a blanket of love."
