Amber Alert issued for possible abduction

An Amber Alert has been issued for several south central and north central Ohio counties encouraging people to be on the lookout for a missing or abducted child from Morrow County.

The child's name is Kaia R. Bracy, a 17-month-old girl about 2 feet tall weighing 25 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes. The child was last seen wearing white shorts, a pink top and no shoes.

The suspect, Melody Collins, is the girl's non-custodial mother. She is about 23 years old with brown hair and brown eyes and was last seen wearing hospital scrubs of an unknown color. She is 5 feet, 6 inches tall and weighs about 160 pounds and is believed to be suicidal and bi-polar. Authorities say she made threats to harm the child, and they are unsure whether she is in possession of any weapons.

She is believed to be driving a gray Chevy Trailblazer pickup with an Ohio license plate.

The Amber Alert has been issued for several counties, including Fayette, Hocking and Pickaway. Anyone who may see the child, suspect or suspect's vehicle is asked to call (877) 262-3764 or dial 911 to report it.

MARENGO, Ohio—An Amber Alert has been issued for a 17-month-old girl who is believed to have been taken by her mother, who is described as suicidal and bi-polar.

Kaia R. Bracy was last seen on County Road 26 in Marengo in Morrow County shortly before 3 p.m.

Bracy is believed to have been taken by her non-custodial mother, who allegedly made previous threats to harm the girl.

The suspect, 23-year-old Melody Collins, is believed to be driving a gray Chevrolet Trailblazer with an Ohio license plate.

Bracy is described as a white female, 2 feet tall, weighing 25 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes.

She was last seen wearing white shorts, a pink top and no shoes.

Collins is described as a white female, 5 feet 6 inches tall, weighing 160 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes. She was last wearing hospital scrubs. The color of the scrubs was not known.
