NEW MADRID COUNTY, Mo. (KFVS (http://www.kfvs12.com/)) -- The New Madrid County Sheriff's Department has issued an Amber Alert for two missing children.
According to the New Madrid County Sheriff's Department, Edgar Langley, 33, had an argument with his wife and took off with the children around 1:50pm Monday. The altercation happened west of Sikeston, Missouri in Farris Ridge.

The two missing children are described as:

Crystal Langley - 6 years old - 42 inches tall - Long blonde hair, blue eyes
Edgar Langley Jr. - 5 years old - 40 inches tall - Brown hair, blue eyes, wearing a blue shirt and tan shorts
Edgar Langley was last seen driving a dark blue Chevy 4x4.

POPLAR BLUFF, Mo. -- An AMBER Alert has been issued for two Southeast Missouri children last seen in Poplar Bluff.

Police are looking for 6-year-old Crystal Langley, a white female with blond hair and blue eyes, and 5-year-old Edgar Langley Jr., a white male with brown hair and blue eyes, last seen wearing tan shorts and a blue shirt.

The children were taken by their father, 31-year-old Edgar Langley, a white male, 5 foot 9 inches tall, weighing 180 pounds, with brown hair and blue eyes. Langley was last seen with no shirt and blue and white checkered pajama pants. He has a rose tattoo on his upper left arm.

The children were last seen around 7 a.m. Monday in a blue Chevrolet truck on Highway 53 in Poplar Bluff.

Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the New Madrid County Sheriff's Department at 573-748-2516.

Amber Alert: Father takes two children

Tuesday, July 28, 2009 at 6:23 a.m.

NEW MADRID -- An Amber Alert is in effect this morning for two southeast Missouri children. Authorities say they were taken by their father last night.

The New Madrid County Sheriff's Department says Edgar Daniel Langley, 31, beat his wife, the children's mother, then took 5-year-old Edgar Daniel Langley Jr. and 6-year-old Crystal Jolene Langley, in his dark blue Chevrolet pick up truck.

The Highway Patrol tells KRCG the latest information they received is that Langley was seen driving along Highway 53 in Poplar Bluff at 7 p.m. Authorities say Langleyhasmade threats against the children's lives and any officer who tried to contact them.
Langley is described as a white male 5-foot-9, 180 pounds, blue and white checked pants, and a rose tattoo on his upper arm.

If you have any information to help find these children, call the New Madrid County Sheriff's Department at (573) 748-2516.

An officer at the New Madrid County Sheriff's Department said Tuesday morning he thinks Langley will stay in the Poplar Bluff area, where he has family. That officer says Langley's wife is in the hospital recovering from scratches and bruises.

AMBER ALERT: Father Takes Kids, Threatens Life

POPLAR BLUFF, MO - Police have issued an Amber Alert for two children from Poplar Bluff, Mo., in southeast corner of the state. Police said a non-custodial father kidnapped his own kids and threatened their lives.

Missing are Crystal Jolene Langley, 6, and her brother Edgar Daniel Langley, 5. Crystal has blonde hair and blue eyes and weighs about 40 pounds. Edgar has brown hair and blue eyes and was last seen wearing a blue shirt and tan shorts.

Police said their father, also named Edgar Langley, assaulted his wife right before taking the kids. He not only made threats against the children's lives, but also any police officers who may come in contact with them.

Edgar Langley Sr., 31, was last seen on Highway 53 in Poplar Bluff, but that was at 7 p.m. Monday. He is driving a dark blue Chevrolet truck with unknown license tags.

Poplar Bluff police believe Langley and his children may still be in the area, but are asking anyone with information on their whereabouts to call 911.
