Oak Lawn police are seeking the public's help in finding a 60-year-old Oak Lawn woman last seen Sunday night near her home.

Janie Ruffin was last seen about 7 p.m. Sunday in the 10900 block of South Keeler Avenue. Police believe she may be headed to her estranged husband's home in the 9100 block of South Chicago Avenue in Chicago, according to an Oak Lawn police missing person alert.

Ruffin suffers from depression and schizophrenia, the alert said.

She was last seen wearing a red shirt, blue jeans, and black gym shoes. Her hair is shoulder length and is usually worn in a pony tail.

Ruffin is a 5-foot-1, 200-pound black woman with black hair and a medium complexion. She also has a three-inch scar on her neck, the alert said.

Missing Oak Lawn woman found, safe

A 60-year-old Oak Lawn woman who was reported missing Sunday was found safe by Chicago police the same night, Oak Lawn police said Thursday.

Janie Ruffin last was seen about 7 p.m. Sunday in the 10900 block of Keeler Avenue. Oak Lawn police believe she may be have been headed to her estranged husband's home in the 9100 block of South Chicago Avenue in Chicago.

Authorities said Ruffin, who suffers from depression and schizophrenia, was found by Chicago police and taken to St. Anthony Hospital. Oak Lawn police confirmed on Thursday that she was at the hospital and notified her family.
