Authorities locate missing Rincon man

August 1, 2009

SPRINGFIELD – Thanks to a concerned resident, Effingham County sheriff’s deputies have located a man who had been missing since early Friday evening.

Sheriff’s spokesman David Ehsanipoor said Ronald Fletcher, 51, of Rincon was found about noon today at the Ebenezer boat landing on the Savannah River. Family had reported him missing shortly before 6 p.m. Friday.

“Our deputies, as well as several other emergency crews searched throughout the evening and nighttime hours attempting to locate Mr. Fletcher,” Ehsanipoor said. “We thank all those who helped search for him, as well as the local media for getting the word out.”

Fletcher was taken to a Savannah hospital for treatment of unnamed injuries. Ehsanipoor said foul play was not suspected.
