Beggs Police Investigate Small Town Sex Ring
BEGGS, OK - Police are looking for more victims in a small town sex ring uncovered this week in Beggs. They suspect that other underage boys were seduced by two women who are behind bars now in the Okmulgee County Jail.
Friday revealed details about a small town sex ring. Beggs Police say two women confessed to seducing as many as 10 teenage boys, plying them with drugs and alcohol. "She said that it brought her back to her teenage years. And that she got 'that look,'" said Beggs Police Chief James Poulin.
Chief Poulin told The News On 6 there could be more victims and more arrests

Police arrested 30-year-old Mindy Carder and 21-year-old Ashley Sprague.
Chief Poulin says both confessed to being high on drugs, seducing multiple boys and giving them marijuana and alcohol.
"She said that it brought her back to her teenage years. And that she got ‘that look' that they couldn't get. And, that she absolutely fell in love with one of these boys,'" said Beggs Police Chief James Poulin.
Poulin fears as many as 10 boys may have hung out at the home. And now, there are concerns that one of the women may have a sexually transmitted disease. So, he's encouraging parents to have a heart to heart with their sons.

I have slowly come to the conclusion that there are far more female predators after young boys than I had ever imagined. Many of them seem to be teachers, etc.

The teachers are found out more. I think female predators come in all shapes, forms and from all walks of life.
Imo, it is one of our country's worst dirty little secrets.
Victims who do report, 80% of them are not believed if they say their abuser was a female.
We are leaving countless victims out there without any support.
They think they are on their own.

"In my 18 years of law enforcement this is one of the strangest cases that's unfolded,'" said Beggs Police Chief James Poulin.
It all started with a father who brought his 14-year-old son to the police station last week.
"We've learned that he was having a sexual relationship with a 30-year-old woman here in Beggs,'" said Beggs Police Chief James Poulin.
Police say it turns out it wasn't just one woman or just one boy.
"To me it's the same thing as prostitution. It was a big sex ring going on there and these kids knew, ‘hey we can go have sex, get drugs, we can drink and smoke there without our parents even knowing,'" said Beggs Police Chief James Poulin.

"These young boys, they think that they understand, but my heart hurts for 'em,'" said Beggs Police Chief James Poulin. "Without arguing or fussing and fighting say, ‘hey listen this is what's going on. Have you been a part of it? Mom and dad are concerned and we want to make sure you are OK.'"
The chief says the investigation is not over.
"There's probably going to be more arrests. The more we learn, we're gonna come get em. We are going to come get them,'" said Beggs Police Chief James Poulin.
Mindy Carder's bond was set at $76,000 for three counts of statutory rape and one count of contributing to the delinquency of a minor. Ashley Sprague is facing a $25,000 bond for one count of each.
If you believe your child might be a victim, police ask that you call 918-267-4935.

If there are STDs involved, these parents need to do more than have a 'heart to heart' with these boys.
I hope these two predators are locked away for a very long time and they can't hurt any more kids.

My personal pet peeve is the assumption it is less harmful for young boys to be seduced by adult women than it is for young girls to be seduced by an adult men.
I hope the victims in these cases will get counseling.

The double standards are reprehensible a2l. Not only is the victimization looked at differently but many times the punishment meted out for the predator is totally unbalanced to what male predators receive for their gross sexual acts.
We are giving none of our boy victims the support they need. No wonder they rarely tell. Most of the time they are dismissed and not believed. Our society does not see the male victim as a victim but one who "got lucky." (gag) It leaves the victim feeling helpless and on his own. If he dares to think of himself as the true victim that he is then he is told that something must be wrong with him and of course they begin to think that is true. Males are 10 times more likely to contemplate suicide if they have been sexually abused than a female victim of sexual abuse. This is the crisis position we are putting them in.
It reminds me of a spider weaving their web in order to catch the unsuspecting fly. These females are as horrid as the male predator. They too befriend their victims, groom them and offer them trinkets when they care nothing about these children and only about their own lustful urges.
I am so sick of both genders who do these unforgivable things to society's children. Everyday it seem to happen.

If this were a case of two men doing the same to young women there'd be a whole different attitude! All of these women should be labeled sex offenders and get jail time.

I can't agree more.
The current world view of males does not encourage them to admit to being victimized by females. To be a victim requires them to admit to falling prey to a female, the perceived weaker sex, in contrast to males taught the female is vulnerable and falls prey to men. Females are perceived as being weaker physically, mentally not capable, able, or desiring to shed the maternal protector role to take on the cloak of a predator. Nothing could be farther from the truth.
Laws are not enough. One way for change to take place would require adult males to confront their own past encounters - encounters most of them viewed (or were told to view) as rights of passage. Without adult males standing up, recognizing the harm and shouting disapproval, it's unlikely boys will be able to change their perception of what is abuse, and what it is not.
Another popular error: the perception that it is female teachers who are most likely to molest underage boys and the perception that females are only interested in teen or preteen boys. It's simply not true. Just like their male counterpart, female predators have various perversions and are among all age groups. They are the masters of camouflage.
