Fayetteville police seek missing woman, possible kidnap victim

Fayetteville, N.C. — Fayetteville Police are looking for a missing woman they think may have been kidnapped.

Denise Jennifer Roberts, 26, was last seen with friends at 10:53 p.m. on Saturday in the parking lot of the Courtyard by Marriott hotel at 4192 Sycamore Dairy Road.

Roberts is described as a black woman, 5-foot-7 and about 100 pounds. She has brown eyes and brown hair.

Police are looking for 46-year-old Willie Mack McCoy, Jr. who is wanted for questioning in the incident. He is believed to be driving a 1992 silver Mitsubishi Eclipse.

McCoy currently has outstanding arrest warrants which are not related to this incident, police said.

Kidnapping charges lodged in case of missing Fayetteville woman

A man is accused of kidnapping a Fayetteville woman who was last seen Saturday leaving a city motel.

Willie Mack McCoy Jr., 46, no address available, was charged late Thursday with first-degree kidnapping, according to a Fayetteville police news release.

He is believed to have taken Denise Jennifer Roberts, 26, of the 1200 block of Kienast Drive, from the parking lot of the Courtyard by Marriott at 4912 Sycamore Dairy Road, the release said.

She was last seen in the parking lot there at 10:53 p.m. with friends, the release said.

McCoy, who has outstanding warrants on unrelated charges, is believed to be driving a 1992 silver Mitsubishi Eclipse.

Missing woman found; kidnapping suspect arrested

Fayetteville, N.C. — A missing Fayetteville woman was found safe Friday, while authorities arrested a 46-year-old man suspected of kidnapping her.

Denise Jennifer Roberts, 26, was last seen by friends in the parking lot of the Courtyard by Marriot hotel, 4192 Sycamore Dairy Road, last Saturday night. Investigators believe that Willie Mack McCoy Jr. kidnapped her from the hotel.

U.S. Marshals, probation officers and Fayetteville police officers located McCoy in Smithfield Friday afternoon.

Roberts is back in Fayetteville, police said.

McCoy was being held in the Cumberland County Jail on first-degree kidnapping charges. His bond hadn't been set late Friday.

Police have not released more information about the incident. The investigation was ongoing.

McCoy had also been wanted on several unrelated outstanding warrants. He was convicted of selling drugs in Cumberland County in 1991, according to state Department of Correction records.
