Amber Alert Issued For Hudson Girl
Girl Attempted Suicide Night Before Leaving, Police Say

HUDSON, Mich. -- An Amber Alert has been issued for a missing 15-year-old girl from Hudson.

Police said Rachel Whitehead attempted suicide Tuesday night and then called a suicide hotline. Police said she was cutting herself while on the phone with the counselors.

She was taken to the hospital and released.

Whitehead's family said she slipped out of the home around 1:30 a.m. Wednesday. She left behind a note that said not to look for her because she was never coming back.

Whitehead is 5 feet 6 inches, 125 pounds and has dark eyes, and has cuts on her inner thighs and scars and fresh cuts on both of her inner arms.

Her hair is a brownish red color on top, black around the face and blonde in the back.

Whitehead sometimes wears rectangular rimmed glasses or contact lenses that change color.

She was last seen wearing black sweatpants, a striped shirt and flip-flops.

Anyone with information on Whitehead's whereabouts is asked to immediately call 911 or the Hudson Police Department at 517-448-8129 or 517- 448-3333 or 517-263-0524.

HUDSON, Mich. -- An Amber Alert for a missing 15-year-old girl from Hudson has been canceled.

Police said Rachel Whitehead was found "safe and sound" Wednesday.
