Missing from the vicinity of the Zest Nightclub in Ipswitch.

I'm not hopeful, but it has nothing to do with the club having later been closed by the authorities for its high crime rate, particularly drug related crimes and violent crimes.

I'm trying to get certain questions answered about whether he was without identification and without funds merely because he was without his wallet and cell phone which he had left at a friends place. I would ofcourse wonder what sort of impression he intended to make on the young ladies in the club if he had no money?

He was supposedly seen at a cab stand near the club after he became innocently separated from his friends.

I am utterly doubtful of the supposed sightings of him in a car later, even if those sightings were by acquaintances of his.

Family's website: FindLukeDurbin.com contains Flyers and contact information for Suffolk Police.

Why would you be doubtful of the sightings when his friends said it was him? Surely they would know?

Looks to me like he had no money to get home with..took a ride with whoever that car belonged to...and possibly came to harm at that persons hands,

By the way its Ipswich not Ipswitch. Its a lovely place ;)

Why would you be doubtful of the sightings when his friends said it was him? Surely they would know.Because I'm a mean, evill, vile person who distrusts everyone and thinks the friends are mistaken when there is no corroration from other sightings in the area.

But the police have said it was a confirmed sighting and in all honesty....its only people who know him could confirm it and it was late and so to the average person why would they be looking at cars anyhow?

By the way i said Ipswich is a nice place. It is but its had it fair share of problems the last few years especially with the prostitute murders.

When a friend FIRST says that they are 80 percent sure or 90 percent sure ... that is what I go by. And that is NOT enough.
Hopeful, well-meaning but probably seeing what they want to see.
Often strange how others in the area at the time who've seen the newspapers didn't see anyone and no one in the direction of travel reported any sighting.

Oh, you could indeed be right, I just put little value on such isolated and uncertain sightings even if later the witness says "I'm sure".

Or...more to the point people just didnt want to get involved.

There has been a lot of trouble in Ipswich the past few years and most people who are out that late tend to be drunk an d not taking notice of vehicles anyhow.

It is sad sure but these days..a lot of the time people just prefer not to get involved in this kind of thing.

He left the taxi stand apparently heading for the Butterworth bus station as he had been advised at the taxi stand to do. How far away was this? How close to the Zest would the most direct route to the Bus Station take him?
Where would a man seek to relieve himself enroute?
Would other revelers from Zest be likely to head toward Butterworth Bus Station as well?
If the unknown silver car appeared NINE minutes after he left the taxi stand, would a person of average walking speed be likely to still be enroute to the bus stop?

To be honest most guys i know are likely to have a pee anywhere..there not shy about it. It could be in a shop doorway..anywhere to be honest.

As for the car appearing 9 minutes after he left the taxi stand and would Luke still be on way to the bus stand in all honesty it depends on several things such as how far the bus stop was from where the taxi rank was..whether he had stopped to pee..whether he had gone directly to the bus station or for eg looked in shop windows. Also on how badly he was drunk he could have stopped to vomit etc. In the scheme of things 9 minutes really isnt long at all IMO.

Oh quite true, but I meant that he might perhaps have had certain preferences about such matters. What would have been most likely for him: a tangle of weeds somewhere which might turn out to have been a gay-prowl area; a bar, an inviting allley, ... or a return to the Zest which might alter his path of travel?

After all, if we are talking about shops with cameras and street cameras... whatever happened had to have happened fairly closeby to that Taxi stand.

Tomorrow is Luke's 23rd birthday and the thought of another birthday without Luke here fills me with dread and anguish. He should be celebrating with his family and friends. Luke loved it when his birthday fell on a weekend...

Time does not heal, it just compounds my utter desperation to find my child. Very few moments of a day go by without my thoughts turning to Luke. I constantly wonder what he would be doing if he was here. So much can happen in three and a half years. I hope wherever he is that he knows how much he is loved and missed by so many people.

The last three and a half years would have been so much harder without the support and compassion from old friends and new. To know that others care so much about my beautiful son means so much.

Please pass Luke's Facebook group on to your friends or his websiite www.findluke.com which has been updated. I hope eventually the person/people who know something about Luke's disappearance cannot live with their conscience any longer and come forward.

Thank you to everyone of you for your kindness and compassion.

With heartfelt thanks

Nicki
