San Juan County Sheriff's Deputies are searching Jackson Lake north of Farmington, N.M., for the body of a missing toddler.
Investigators said 2-year-old Nicolas Lucero was abducted by his father Christopher Lucero on Sunday.
Police said Lucero broke into Nicolas' mother's house, beat her then threatened to kill her and their son before taking off with the boy.
Investigators said Lucero just recently called family members and told them he killed the boy and left his body at the lake.
Right now Lucero is still at large.

San Juan deputies searching for abducted child
FARMINGTON, N.M. (AP) - Sheriff's deputies in San Juan County are searching a lake north of Farmington for a 2-year-old boy abducted by his father, but said they were doing so as a precaution because of a threat the father made.
Underesheriff Mark McCloskey said Tuesday evening that there's no evidence Nicholas Lucero's body is in Jackson Lake. The boy was abducted from his home on Sunday by the father, 32-year-old Christopher Lucero of Farmington.
McCloskey says Lucero has a history of assaults against the boy's mother and hit and kicked her before taking the toddler on Sunday.
He later called the mother and told her he killed the boy and threw him in the lake. McCloskey says it is not uncommon for people involved in domestic violence to try to inflict emotional pain on the victim in such ways.
Lucero was last seen driving a late model silver or gray Toyota Tercel. Anyone with information is asked to call the San Juan County Sheriff's Office.

FARMINGTON, N.M. (AP) — Authorities say a 2-year-old boy who was abducted by his father has been found safe.
Authorities say 32-year-old Christopher Lucero of Farmington was taken into custody east of Durango, Colo., Tuesday night by law enforcement officers in Colorado.
Sheriff's deputies in New Mexico's San Juan County searched Jackson Lake, north of Farmington, earlier Tuesday after Lucero allegedly told his son's mother that he killed the boy and threw him in the water.
Under sheriff Mark McCloskey says Lucero has a history of assaults against the boy's mother.
McCloskey said it's not uncommon for people involved in domestic violence to try to inflict emotional pain on the victim.
McCloskey also said there was no evidence earlier in the search Tuesday that the boy was in the lake, but sheriff's deputies were searching it as a precaution.

When they said that they hadn't found the father yet, I had a feeling he was lying about killing Little Nicolas.
Thank God he's safe!!:happy0158:
