MASON COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A 31-year-old man from Mason County has been missing for five days now.
Both police and family have searched the countryside and still have found no sign of Charles “Bubby” Denny.
Thursday night family and friends held a candlelight vigil in honor of Bubby as folks there pray for his safe return.
More than 100 people gathered in the parking lot of the Mason County Courthouse to support Bubby’s family.
“Nobody knows how it feels, it’s a living hell,” said Bubby’s father, Charles Denny.
Mr. Denny is having a tough time, not knowing what’s happened to his son.
Bubby Denny was last heard from around 1:00 a.m. Saturday. He told a relative he was taking a country drive, but he never returned.
“It’s not like bubby not to call family,” Mr. Denny said.
Sheriff’s deputies have searched all week for Bubby, they even used a helicopter to check the valleys and hollows for any sign of him or his vehicle.
All family and friends can do now is pray and hope for the best.
Bubby Denny was driving a blue Ford Explorer “Eddie Bauer” edition the night he disappeared.
If you have any information that may help find Bubby, contact the Mason County Sheriff’s Department.

Charles Ray ‘Bubby’ Denny
POINT PLEASANT — The whereabouts of Point Pleasant resident Charles Ray “Bubby” Denny remain a mystery.
Denny was first reported missing on Saturday, Oct. 3. According to the Mason County Sheriff’s Department, April L. McCoy, Denny’s sister and the complainant in the case, it is unlike Denny to disappear.
When last seen on Saturday, Denny was wearing blue jeans, flip flops, a New York Yankees hat and a white long-sleeved Aeropostale ‘78 shirt. McCoy said she last spoke to Denny by phone late Saturday night, but the line was apparently interrupted. McCoy has not seen or heard from Denny since that conversation took place.
Denny is 6-feet-3 inches tall and weighs 187 pounds. He has two tattoos: “Faith” on his neck and “69” on his left bicep. He also wears a St. Christopher pendant necklace, a diamond-studded earring in his left ear and an AEP one year anniversary bracelet. He is reportedly a frequent customer at the following tri-county establishments: Jericho Inn, Hog Haven, Courtside and Green Gables.
He is a native of Gallia County, Ohio and is employed as a deckhand for AEP. He currently drives a 1998 blue and tan Ford Explorer with license plate number 8MW692.
On Thursday evening a candlelight vigil was held for Denny at the Mason County Courthouse Annex Parking.

Charles Ray Denny has been missing since Saturday, and now his loved ones are searching for answers.
Story by Shane Irwin
Point Pleasant -- Family and loved ones have searched, and asked for any information from the public, but still don't know what happened to Charles Denny. He's been missing for almost four days now, and today, they gathered to honor their friend, and ask the public for help. Charles Ray Denny was last seen on Saturday, and hasn't been heard from since.
"My first thoughts was, maybe he went out on a country road and wrecked. I mean, you don't know and he's over a hill somewhere. That was my first thoughts and now, we've searched so much that I'm not, I'm not even sure now at this point, what happened," Charles' sister, April Denny-McCoy said.
The 31 year old spoke to his 10 year old son Chase Friday, and told him to call him on Saturday morning to go ATV riding. Chase called and left messages, but never heard back from his dad.
"He doesn't know, he doesn't understand what's going on. He doesn't understand why, if he's ok, why he's not calling and saying, hey I'm ok. Just, I need some time, if that's all he wants, if that's all he needs, just some time, if he could just call and say he's all right, that would be great," said Chase's mother and Charles' ex-wife, Brook Capp.
"Once was lost, but now..."
The crowd sang amazing grace, lit candles, and spoke about Charles. His dad, just wants to know he's okay.
"If he's out there, I pray that he's alive, and I hope he comes back home. I can only hope and pray that he's out there, somewhere alive," said Charles Ray Denny's father, Charles Denny.
Family and friends say it wouldn't be like Denny to just leave and not tell anyone, especially now because his mother hasn't been in the best of health. All that's left for the family now is to hold out hope...they ask anyone with information on the whereabout of Charles, to call the Mason county Sheriff's department at 304-675-3838.

I didn't realize his phone died at first. So that rules out finding pings I guess. I hope they've talked to all of his friends and people at the places he liked to hang out.
