EL PASO, Texas -- The family of a missing 16-year-old girl from East El Paso is turning to their cell phones to get out the word.

The Torres family said they haven’t seen their daugther Stephanie since Thursday.

"We figured that maybe, us as parents, we can't find her, maybe other kids can find her. So me and my kids we started texting friends, and hopefully their friends will text other friends and it'll get out there," said Heriberto Torres, her father.

The last time Torres and his wife Teresa saw Stephanie, was when she was leaving to go to a pep rally at her school, Eastwood High. She was supposed to return around 8:30 p.m., but she never made it.

"I went looking for her, house to house with her friends, and nobody knew about her," said Teresa Torres.

"I'm scared of the unknown because I don't know what's happening. I don't know if she ran away, if she was taken from me. I don't know," said Heriberto Torres.

They said Stephanie has never been one to run away and didn't show up at school Friday either. With no ties in Juarez, the Torres family is baffled. Heriberto Torres clenched his phone tight Saturday hoping for a message himself.

"We just want her back. We don't care who calls, we're not going to say anything, we're not going to press charges. We just want her back," Heriberto Torres said.

So the family will keep texting out the info in hopes their daughter will get the message.

"Anybody, please? Because we're desperate to know where she's at,” Teresa Torres said.

"It's driving me crazy. Crazy. I just want her back," Heriberto Torres said.

Stephanie Torres is described as a Hispanic female, 5 feet 1 inch tall and 160 pounds. She has brown curly hair and a scar on her forehead. If you have any information please call El Paso police at 915-832-4400.
