SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - Who killed Brenda King? Someone attacked her eight years ago and still no suspects. Her family isn't giving up hope.
Every year around this time, friends and family of Brenda Stanfield King come out here to Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd and 45th Street. They stand quietly, holding candles, hoping their presence may spark a new interest in this cold case.
"It's been eight years since she's been murdered and no one has told us what happened," said King's sister, Rose Simmons.
Simmons says her sister was waiting for the bus when someone walked up and strangled her, then dumped her body behind a daycare. King was not sexually assaulted or robbed. Her family just doesn't understand why someone would do this to her.
"She was a friendly person and we miss her a lot," said Simmons.
King left behind three children. One of her sons is Calvin Garcia. He was only 17-years-old when his mother died. He says her death was senseless. "I mean, it's stupid if you ask me. Whoever did this, they're not going to be man enough to come forward and say they did it," said Garcia.
Come forward, so this family can finally have some closure.
If you know anything about King's murder, call police or Crimestoppers at 234-2020.

She was not robbed or sexually assaulted. I wonder if they checked for similar murders. I looked for her on the GBI unsolved cases and some other sites that show unsolved cases but could not find her. I believe the family can ask for her to be listed.

My prayers for Brenda's family.
