ORANJESTAD — The judicial investigation into the actions and about the integrity of Head Commisar Jan van der Straten has been rounded up. “The dots have yet to be put on the i,” said Angela Ann, spokesperson of the Public Ministry.
Angela reports that Attorney-General Rob Pietersz has read through the investigation report, but for now he does not want to disclose anything about the findings. “He askes for patience.” The investigation was ordered by Justice Minister Rudy Croes (MEP), and insisted upoon by the Dutch State Secretary of Kingdom Relations Ank Bijleveld-Schouten (CDA). Croes had repeatedly expressed that he suspected Jan van der Straaten of deliberately hindering the investigation into the disappearance of American teenager Natalee Holloway. The former police chief would have impeded the investigation to help his friend Paul van der Sloot protecting his son, the main suspect Joran van der Sloot. The former Police chief would purposely have waited till 10 days after the disappearance to arrest would der Sloot and two other suspects. The minister also said that Van der Straten had said: at the time “I can not do my friend Paul.” Jan van der Straten has since retired.

We have corruption in this country, why would Aruba be any different. I have no doubt that something was covered up in this case.

I don't think anyone who's followed this story believes anything else, Tracian.

I don't! And I followed the case very, very closely for years.

Girls just don't fall off the face of the earth. Joran has often bragged about his involvement in Natalie's disapearence.
If he is not involved, then he is the coldest excuse for a human being to brag about watching a girl die, and dumping her body in the ocean--of course, just recently, he has again proved his lack of respect for women with that sex trade fiasco of his.

Tracian what I was responding to was your comment about "something was covered up" and then Roamer's response that she doesn't think anyone who followed the story thinks anything else....
IOW, I was not responding to whether or not Joran is guilty of harming Natalee. I was responding regarding a cover-up.
That being said....I think Joran changed very, very much between the time he met Natalee and years later. Changed for the worse.
I won't get into what I think really happened. I don't think any of us will ever know. And I am sooooooooo far beyond that case it's not funny. Don't know why I even came on this thread. Some things you're just done with. This case was almost literally my life for months and years. I got so tired of it.

I think Joran is and was a spoiled punk that never had a shred of empathy for anyone or anything.
I do think his father covered up and used his friends in power to delay and mislead the investigation.
Having said that, I will say, that I know what you mean about following cases, I have and still follow the West Memphis 3.

I would also think he played a far more active role in the disposal of the body and possibly in the murder. Do you really think those three young punks could properly plan and execute the murder and corpse disposal?

With Joran's big mouth, and his sense of entitlement? Not a chance.

http://media.al.com/spotnews/photo/nataleejpg-1d2cc48baac8f721_medium.jpgNatalee Holloway (Birmingham News file)On Thursday, more than four years after the Mountain Brook teen disappeared while on a senior trip in Aruba, Natalee Holloway was added to a list of missing children on the Alabama Department of Public Safety Web site (http://community.dps.alabama.gov/Pages/wfReportPDF.aspx?Type=0&ID=6f792814-2bb6-4bf9-a79b-fbe5f3a07c30).
Special Agent Judy Orihuela, a spokeswoman with the Miami office of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, said tonight that Holloway's family requested that information be added to the site.
The notice describes her as an "endangered" missing person and lists her current age as 23. It asks that anyone with information call 1-800-228-7688.
Holloway disappeared on May 30, 2005 hours before she and classmates from Mountain Brook High School were to return home from their trip.
Orihuela said she did not know what prompted the family to request that her picture be posted alongside 13 other missing children and teens from across Alabama, some who have been missing for more than 10 years and others who disapperared as recently as a few months ago.
In March, an investigator hired by Holloway's father, Dave Holloway, who has said many times that he would not give up until all options were exhausted, searched a pond in Aruba. Nothing was found. Holloway's mother, Beth Holloway, has also continued to press for answers in the case and in April ''Loving Natalee,'' a book about her family's ordeal, was published.

IMO, Tracian...Joran is the biggest narcisist anyone can come across. His parents are enablers and I too think his father had a hand in helping Joran and then helping with the investigation, gearing it towards his son...Joran's sense of entitlement is swaggering...
My heart goes out to the Halloway family for this is torture and the torment is still seen on mom's face...I hope and pray Natalee would be found and Joran and his cohorts will be sent to jail, for a very long time...:madranting94dp:

I saved a lot of the case pics, but this is one of the albums I have not organized yet.
I will try to get that done asap.
Anyways, here's the link:

editing to add this request...
I have forgotten so many of the names. If anyone has a list of pertinent names, please send me a PM. I will be able to match names to people, it just goes blank for me at the moment. For example, the woman with the newspaper, Joran's Mom's name, etc.
Even if I'd kept the case notes I made, I am 2 or 3 computers past then, lol.

I hope her parents will always keep her face in the news, even if it is once a year. Just to let the guilty parties know they have not given up.

Exactly, Nanabillie.
It was important to have Natalee added to her homestate missing persons website operated by the ABI and DPS so that her face and story are always there to make people ponder. There were many people from Alabama present in Aruba when Natalee vanished and even though they might have been interviewed by police, something just might come to mind that they forgot to mention. Something big or small - it doesn't make a difference.
Once the last stone is overturned, we will know the real story of what happend. Never give up.
Take care, be safe, and have a very Merry Christmas!
